ACMESkydiver 0 #1 July 19, 2005 Man I HATE IT when people call my home...let it ring...then hang up. Then call my cell...let it ring...then hang up. Then repeat this process for HOURS and later when they get a hold of me BITCH that I am not 'available'. Leave a f*cking MESSAGE and I'll get back to you. Annoy the SHIT OUT OF ME & good luck getting a call.... I don't have to answer my phone instantly, I am not at your beck and call, PUNKS! I will not answer when I'm going pee-pee. Do you want me to talk to you whilest I am enjoying my marrital status?! And my phone gets wet in the shower and shorts out....so LEAVE A DAMN MESSAGE!!! Does this piss ANYONE else off half as much as it does me?!? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
NWFlyer 2 #2 July 19, 2005 QuoteDo you want me to talk to you whilest I am enjoying my marrital status?! I thought all that stuff ended once you got married... Edited to actually answer the question: I have simplified my life down to one phone. One number where I can be reached, or one number where I choose not to be reached. I believe in liberal use of the "silent" ring function. I know you called, the phone will store your number so I can call you back easily, but it isn't gonna interrupt whatever I'm doing at the time. I'll call ya back, I promise."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. ACME in the cell phone store: "Does this model have vibrate?" Sales clerk: "I think so, I'm not quite sure, let me just che..." ACME: "IT MUST HAVE VIBRATE!!!!!" Sales Clerk: "Oh! Yeah, um, yes ma'am, I'm sure it does, and so do these models...whichever you want...take them....just...here you go." -Was that out loud? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Icon134 0 #4 July 19, 2005 I don't always leave a message but I don't usually expect/have issues with others not leaving a message. but I don't expect someone to call me back if I don't leave a message. of course as disjointed as most of my messages are... I'm not suprised if/when people don't return my calls otherwise. personally, I'm mostly happy when I get phone calls at all... nobody ever calls me... nate_1979 9 #6 July 19, 2005 Actually, I hate it when people leave me a voicemail if it's not important info I need... If you leave me a voice mail that means that I have to waste my time listening to it and deleting it... If you dont leave me voicemail I can see that you called on my caller ID and call back when it's convenient for me, or you can call me back again later on FGF #??? I miss the sky... NWFlyer 2 #9 July 19, 2005 QuoteACME: "IT MUST HAVE VIBRATE!!!!!" Oh, yes, then there's Vibrate (which is different from totally Silent) ... now that's a whole DIFFERENT type of fun with your phone (though I prefer purpose-built appliances myself...) aerohaga 0 #10 July 20, 2005 No message is only slightly worse than the message that goes on and on and on and on........Can't you just say "Hi, this is (insert your name here). Call me when you get a chance"?For my part, I know nothing with any certainty, But the sight of the stars makes me dream. -Vincent Van Gogh

yardhippie 0 #12 July 20, 2005 I had two cell phones at one time. One was for work and personal calls were frowned upon. so I had my personal cell. So Im at home on day and the work phone rings.... but before I get to it, the VM picks up. So as Im checking my VM, the personal phone rings, "fuck", before I get to it.. the VM picks up. "fucking hell" THEN! the damn house phone rings, I answer that Mo-FO, and Im pissed. it was my wife! I was like what the hell woman?! leave a message already!!! so yea. it really irks me. EricaH 0 #13 July 21, 2005 UGH - I'm with you. I HATE it when people leave me a message. If I see a number & I feel like talking, I'll call back. If you leave a message it better be one that doesn't require further conversation. Like say I know I'm meeting someone for lunch, just not where/when. Leave me a message giving me the unknown info, just don't expect me to call you back. I'll see you at lunch. If I have to retrieve the message, listen to it, delete it & then call you back to finish the conversation - I'm not calling you back for at least a week. But then again, I don't know why I am so against wasting a few minutes of my time. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. kelel01 1 #14 July 21, 2005 When people call me now, it's of the utmost importance that they leave a message if they want a return phone call, seeing as how my screen's blank and all. But no, I don't leave messages unless I have to tell them something immediately.
SpeedRacer 1 #15 July 21, 2005 I honestly don't care if people call & then don't leave a message. One less thing I have to deal with. I had a roommate who was totally different though. She thought it was extremely rude to call & not leave a message on the machine, & it drove her batshit when people did that. I couldn't understand her at all. Who cares if someone doesn't wanna leave a message? go on with your life. sometimes you call someone & you wanna talk to the human & its useless to talk to a machine. in that case fuck it. jumpchikk 0 #18 July 21, 2005 Not a big deal if you leave a message or not... here lately, my voicemail inbox has been full so if you call, you can't leave a message anyway... I don't answer calls if I don't know the number and if I'm asleep...you better hope it's an emergency...
