Harry Potter title released

Makes sense on many different levels. Also leads me to believe he'll have some inside help when it comes time for his final confrontation. I'm looking forward to the last book but dreading it at the same time because I don't want it to be over! Amazing how a book (or series of them) can pull you in so completely!

So is the person who wrote the letter- the letter said something like "By the time you see this I'll be dead." But Harry's gotten help in the past from "beyond the grave". Also, many of the death eaters stay with Voldemort more out of fear than loyalty. If Regulus learned his secret and betrayed him, and if we suspect that things aren't as they appear with Snape, couldn't there be other death eaters willing to turn on Voldemort if they thought Harry had a shot at winning?

I also think Harry's going to have a problem with the aurors in the final book. While they aren't evil (at least not on Voldemort's level) they've already shown signs of abusing their authority, something that will continue to escalate. Harry will find himself having to work against and around the ministry to do what needs to be done.

Yeah, I too think that Harry will die when he kills Voldemort. The prophesy says "Neither can live while the other survives". To me that means if one dies, they both die. Or perhaps by "live" they mean go about a normal life. Bah, I don't know

It's almost like that interpretation is too obvious, and from what I've been reading in these books is nothing is that simple. I'm thinking there has to be more to it, perhaps even something to do with the Horcruxes, ofcourse it could be as simple as neither shall survive the final battle.

I think SNAPE will die while either protecting or somehow helping Harry defeat Voldemort. Much as I can't see Harry moving on and having a normal life with Ginny, I'm not ready to think about him dying either!:o

I read the prophesy as one of them dying in the effort to kill the other. (Sort of like The Highlander- There can be only one!)

I *think* RAB is Regulus Black. (I don't think that's spoling anything really.......)

A lot of fans are speculating same. Regulus died because once he saw how bad Voldemorts crew was, he tried to back out of being a death eater (as i recall, someone correct me if I'm not remembering accurately). So it's certainly possible he found out about the horcruxes and destroyed the one, left the note, etc. before being killed himself.

I think we need to start a separate "spoilers" thread for people who have already finished, so we can actually talk about the plot of the book.

I agree!

It sucks finishing the book on Sunday, since no one, fucking no one I know that is reading it is close to finishing it. I want to discuss the book!

I got the book last night (picked it up on the way home from the DZ), and the first thing I did was flip to the end and read the last chapter. :$ I know who died, [:/] and now I can relax and slowly read the whole book, rather than race through, trying to find out.
It will only take me about five hours to read the book the first time anyway, and I want to be able to savor it. If I was wondering about the end, I wouldn't focus on what was happening in that particular chapter.

Never mind just got off the phone with Amazon they are refunding me the price of the book

Same thing happened to me. I ordered two copies - one for my step-mom that lives one mile away. UPS left it on her door on time. But they gave mine to the post office, who put a slip in my mailbox and promptly closed, so I had to wait until Monday to get it. Amazon is refunding the cost of the book.

I just finished it - wanted to not view this thread until then in case there were any spoilers.

He took the Horcrux and hid it before he died. The note RAB left in the fake locket said he'd be dead by the time Voldemort read it. Also, someone else pointed out that in Order of the Phoenix, there a scene where the kids are cleaning out the living room in Sirius' house and one of the items they find is a heavy locket they can't open. (I'm re-reading that now. I almost wish I had taken the time to do that before I read Half Blood Prince!)

(because unless the movie is 6 hours long, they're going to leave some stuff out!)

No joke - the Quidditch World Cup alone could be a two-hour movie. Before the HBP came out, I re-read Books 5 and 3. I'm half-way through four now - it's one of my favorites.

Me too! They just finished the second task. There's a whole lot of ground to cover - they're going to have to eliminate entire sub-plots just to get to the meat so the next movie will be properly set up.

I wonder who's playing Rita Skeeter? Anyone know?

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
