Is golfing the new bowling?

It seems that whenever someone doesn't think certain people are made for skydiving they tell them to try bowling. Well with all this talk going on with golfers being athletes or not I wondered...Is golfing the new bowling?

Student: "Man this skydiving thing is tough and scary."
Instructor: "Maybe you should try golf instead."
