TallGuy 0 #101 May 27, 2005 OK I found them in the pub 15-way (2 pts): Perris Valley Skydiving - 25 May 2003 10-way (2 pts): Perris Valley Skydiving - 2 March 2002 8-way: Spaceland - Nov 2001 5-way: Deland - Aug 2001 4-way: Texel - Jul 2001 Hmm looks like it's time to start up some propper DZ.com records. Looks like it's all RW so far. I'm thinking it's time to add a new category. Hybrids! Is there already a standard for judging hybrids? I'm thinking. It must meet these qualifications: The formation must consist of an equal or greater number of hangers and stingers to people flying on their bellies. The formation of all RW in the base and all hangers hanging must be held for at least 10 seconds. All stinging may only be counted while it is built. Stingers must be either head down, sitting, or standing (which includes standing on the base) A sting must be held for 3 seconds to be counted. One sting per stinger is required or the attempt is disqualified (although more are strongly encouraged). A stinger may sting a stinging stinger Obviously there must be judgable video of all of it. What do you guys think?

livendive 8 #103 May 27, 2005 QuoteHell I dont even know if I will do the POP's jumps this year..That shit scared me last year... Maybe I will do video for it.... I think the record DIZZIE DOT COM.. is over 20...we did one at Eloy at the Holiday Boogie then the peeps in FL beat that..... so it would need to be a formation load.. and there will just not be that many people from here.... there.... There'll be more than you might think, it's just that not all of them postwhore like the rest of us. We can make jdobleman organize it. I don't know whether we'll have the skill to complete a formation load, but I bet we'll have the people and skillset to at least give it a reasonably safe try. If I remember correctly, the record set last year was like a 2-point 24-way or so? That's within the realm of possible. And I don't blame you for getting skeered on the POPs loads. Those things usually look pretty scary to me on the ground! Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

AndyMan 7 #106 May 27, 2005 Ok, dumb question. How do you get there? Airfare direct to Kalispell is expensive... so is airfare to Spokane. It's a 2 day drive nonstop from Chicago. Any good alternate airports I should check out? I'm thinking flying somewhere, then renting a car. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. SeaKev 0 #107 May 27, 2005 Airfare-wise, Seattle should be inexpensive since Alaska has deals w/ the new Chicago route. It's about a 10 hour drive from Seattle to LP.
livendive 8 #108 May 27, 2005 Spokane shouldn't cost you much more than Seattle, and it gets you 250 miles closer to LP. Have you checked multiple airlines? Boise is another option, but likely more expensive than Spokane. In Montana, your options are Kalispell (closest), then Missoula, Helena, and Butte...all likely more expensive than Spokane. Southwest currently shows roundtrip Chicago-Spokane for the 27th & the 1st for $380, & Frontier shows $365. Cheaptickets.com shows Chicago-Seattle's cheapest round trip at $305. Save $60, but add 500 miles worth of driving (roundtrip) Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

TallGuy 0 #111 May 31, 2005 QuoteHybrid would work. Makes for kick-ass funnel footage, too! You obviously didn't see the hybrid I organized (but merely flew base for) that made up about a minute of last years boogie video. It was virtually flawless and at least 75% of it were DZ.comers. I think we can easilly pull it off. At the very least we should be able to start it off with a 4 way flat base and 4 hangers.
Amazon 7 #112 May 31, 2005 I would be up for that.. but I think you want me on my belly.. seems whenever I hang... the rest of the formation ends up looking like my freefly tube.

TallGuy 0 #117 June 10, 2005 So it looks like I'll be flying into Kalispell. I'm thinking of renting a car there this year so I won't need to be picked up at the Airport and can go to the lake whenever I like. I don't want to pay for the car by myself. It'd be nice to share the car between myself and two other people and split the charge Anyone else flying in that wouldn't mind chipping in (like $100 flat each) for a bit of mobility? PM me if you are interested.

apley 0 #125 June 11, 2005 dammit. i just can't make up my mind. i want to get back on the horse after breaking my leg @ LP 2 years ago, but have to take unpaid vacation to do it. for those who have never been, LP is probably the most beautiful DZ you could jump at. the peeps are very friendly, the visitors extremely bazaar, and you couldn't go to a better boogie. bring your BIG canopy, though... unless you have good (well-tested) canopy skills. i think i was the 1st of 5 or 6 broken bones that year.... 3500 ft at the cow pie, err... landing area, and 95 - 100 deg every day, with serious wind gusts.
