billvon 3,102 #29 July 25, 2005 >Scorched earth was a MASSIVE time burner too. Scorched Earth was perfect for playing while you downloaded, too. I remember how amazed I was that Windows 3.1 could handle a download and Scorched Earth at the same time. There was also a cool protocol called HS-Link that let you download and upload at the _same_ time! Took care of those pesky upload-download ratios. I always had a directory full of cool-looking .GIFs to use as upload fodder. Course, back then, a 320x240 picture of a flower was something to be amazed by. nate_1979 9 #30 July 25, 2005 Ofcourse, then there was GIFlink which let you see the picture as you were downloading it,. .. You could abort the crappy picture before you waisted all that time downloading it if it looked like it was gonna suck FGF #??? I miss the sky... skycat 0 #37 July 25, 2005 BTW....I wasn't the crazy chick at the picnics. I was the one on the motorcycle wondering why all the crazy chicks had all the men. Finally I realized that they were the ones putting out and I tended to scare the boys when I knew more about UNIX than they did. Fly it like you stole it! btucker 0 #40 July 26, 2005 Apple ][ those where good days... I remember a golden quote by one of my mates "I bought a modem less than 12 months ago and there is already a warrent out for my arrest." There was too, he did 6months weekend detention for credit card fraud. He also hacked into a goverment voice and bugged a guys phone - both activies where investigated by ASIO {spooks}.
