peckerhead 0 #1 July 30, 2005 Sometimes when I try to attach a photo I get this message. What does it mean and how do I fix it. Also, how do you post a link? The html I use on other boards does not seem to work here.......
Quincy 0 #2 July 30, 2005 Go to Google and download Picasa2 for free. A great, simple program. Find your picture and then use the "Export" button to resize it. Quincy
waltappel 1 #3 July 30, 2005 QuoteSometimes when I try to attach a photo I get this message. What does it mean and how do I fix it. Usually that means you need to edit the picture with something like Adobe Photoshop and reduce the resolution (pixels per inch) and/or the image size (e.g., 10 in. by 5 in. or 1280 pixels by 800 pixels) and/or the picture quality. If you don't have the software to do this and the file sizes aren't really huge, e-mail them to me (waltappel@(remove_this_anti_spam_part)earthlink.net) and I'll help you out. Quote Also, how do you post a link? The html I use on other boards does not seem to work here....... Click on the "Get Markup Help" and see the help for putting a "url" in your post. It's actually pretty easy. Walt
peckerhead 0 #4 July 30, 2005 Thanks, I have both photo shop and HP editor. Sometimes cropping the picture works. I just can't figure out how to reduce the file size, without making the quality of the photo suck. I see attached photos posted here that are clear and sharp...I must be missing something. Photoshop has a GREAT feature that will help you out. From the "File" menu, select "Save for Web". If that doesn't give you the file size/quality you need, from the "Image" menu, select "Image Size". For most web applications, a resolution of 72 pixels/inch is fine. The document size need not be any larger than 5 inches or so for its *longest* dimension. Make the above adjustments, then use "Save for Web" to save the pic as a jpg, and you'll get a good result. Walt
