peacefuljeffrey 0 #1 July 30, 2005 Yeehaaaa! I've been away from Florida on a driving vacation up to New York, and during a stop here on Long Island to see my dad and my sister, I made time to get to Skydive Long Island to do a jump! Finally!! I did my very first skydive there in 1991 while I was in college, and then two more in 1996. (But that was when they were located at Spadaro Airport. Now they're at the old Grumman facility at Calverton, with a 10,000 foot runway!) Then I didn't jump again until I did my full-on training in 2003. Some time in between then and now, they switched locations. I just wanted to post to say that the operation there is AWESOME, and the people are awesome too! I had a wonderful time, and I was very impressed with the safety-conscious but still laid-back way of doing things that they have there. The Caravan was quite comfortable and in great condition (a COLOR GPS in the panel?! WOW!). Lauren in manifest was super super nice and friendly, too. I was in kind of a rush, and had to get home with my dad and girlfriend, so I had time to do only one jump, but I even hooked up for a two-way when a guy named Jack asked if I felt comfortable doing a sit-fly with him. Hell yeah!! Long Island's view is sort of like Sebastian's when you see it from the air, so I felt right at home. When I get time off again in September, I am definitely bringing my rig and coming out to jump there again! Blue skies, -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... sundevil777 102 #3 July 30, 2005 10K foot runway! They could have an engine fail at 1000 ft and put it back down without a turn! I'll bet there are some benefits in terms of maintenance facilities there also.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
