brierebecca 0 #27 August 1, 2005 QuoteYou might think NZ is cheap, but you will find it very expensive, very expensive, just like others do. Your US dollar is weak to the nz dollar at the moment and NZ is a very pricey country. It will start cheap but it is disneyland on speed and will eat away at money so do not get sucked into thinking it will be cheap because of the exchange rate. It costs about $1.80 U.S. for a 600 ml coke and about $3.90 U.S. for a big mac. I work in tourism NZ as i was a marketing director for our dropzone, The whole country is designed to take money from tourists. Just dont go over with the wrong idea. hmm....I guess I was just thinking in terms of the euro and the dollar in Switzerland. We're not thinking it will be cheap, just cheapER than Switzerland. Any ideas for saving money would be appreciated "Ive seen you hump air, hump the floor of the plane, and hump legs. bigway 4 #29 August 1, 2005 The best way to do the whole country is buy a car in auckland for about $600 U.S, you would get a ford laser for that 1.6L. Drive it around the country using petrol at about .85c a litre and then sell it at your last destination outside a backpackers for the same price you paid for it. It will sell fast outside the backpackers. (within a day). or leave it at the auctions and they will send you a cheque when they sell it. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . britboynz 0 #30 August 2, 2005 I live in Auckland (came here on holiday 5yrs ago, fell in love with the place and never went home!) It's an AWESOME country. Random, off-the-top-of-my-head list of things worth seeing/doing: Kauri Forests in Northland, dig yourself your very own hot tub on Hot Water Beach (on Coromandel peninsula near Auckland). Jump with us out of our PAC-750XL over a huge lake with snow capped mountains in the background at Taupo , Wine tasting at the many vineyards in the Hawkes Bay. Zorb in Rotorua and see boiling mud/geothermal activity. take your hubby on a Tandem Bungy jump (mwwwahahaha!) in Taupo. Guided tour of Hobbiton (Lord of The Rings) in Matamata. Tongariro Crossing hike (if you're into hking, this is Awesome). And thats just a few things to do in the North Island! Russ

It's an awesome country and truly great for all kind of sports, but you've been there already. Choose the unknown sometimes and lead an amazing live. Have a great honeymoon! *** Nice to meet you toot!
