I was in Wisconsin or Indiana a few days a go and saw a Mercedes (old) that had a hand painted sign that read, "This Mercedes runs for free on freedom fry grease". I assumed they were referencing biodiesel but the thing was parked at the pump immediatly in front of me.
It's a cool idea but as soon as it gains popularity, there will be no free grease.

They are all over the place here in eugene,

we see bio-diesel stickers all over the place

I've got the plans, when I get out of school, i want to try it. but oregon is getting a bio diesel plant so the raw materiels harder

The procedure described WILL make biodiesel. It wrong in almost every other detail. Mixing the methanol and lye in a home blender? That will go boom as soon as the fumes hit brushes in the motor. Home chemsitry is too dangerous .... I'm going jumping.
