LawnDart21 0 #1 August 10, 2005 So I wake up at 5am this morning in the dark to this thumping on my back every 30-60 seconds or so.... After the third thump, I knew exactly what it was.... (I live in the woods) So I turn on the tv to get somne light in the room, and sure enough this big old bat is flying circles around my ceiling fan and crashing into me/my bed, every 2nd or 3rd pass around the fan. Aside from the fact it woke me up, I was actually kind of impressed with how graceful it looked (when it wasnt crashing into the bed). I shut the fan off not wanting it to get hurt and tried to fgure out how the heck I was gonna get it out of the house.......lol Long story short, I have a big old ceiling fan in my hallway which I also shut off (I figure its how he got in) and after ten minutes of watching him swoop my chandelier, he flew back up into the fan grate. I shut the grate and went back to bed......lol -- My other ride is a RESERVE.
BillyVance 35 #2 August 10, 2005 That might freak me out... I see bats flying around at dusk outside my house and once in a while they'll swoop at me and veer off at the last second. At least they don't swoop down my chimney and get stuck in the fireplace. But the barn swallows DO! I have freed probably 10 barn swallows from my fireplace in the past 5 years.
