I need surgery

Recommended Posts

I know how else we can bother him:

"Rebecca and K, you guys are awesome. I mean it. You're the best ever. Rebecca, I couldn't ask for a better stalker with a better sense of humor. And K, you gave me all that medical knowledge when I was having trouble, and that was great."

>:( (Slappie hates fluff). :D

Now while I was kidding, it doesn't make any of it any less true. :)

Grumble.. quit hijacking my thread.

I think I'll have to pass on all your suggestions kb. As nice as some sounded I think I might just take a loan or rob a bank! ;)

IMHO I say get it done and over with. What does the oral surgeon say? I'm assuming an OS is going to be doing this operation.

Ya my oral surgeon pulled my 4 wisdom teeth last year. I'm about due to go back. This is why I started this whole thing. Becasue I don't wannnnnnnaaaa go back. I just know I can't wait to much longer. The bone degradation is getting pretty bad.

Funny how the human body trys to clean itself up but destroys itself at the same time..

Sometimes the body don't know what's best (know's what it "wants"... but maybe not what's "best")
Thats why you have the brain to know to do what needs to be done....
because whether you go for broke and get it all nice and pretty or you elect for the bridge... your body is telling you that you should do something.

The body is an amzing machine, but when it malfunctions... B|

A very dear friend of mine has a disease she was born with, which is essentially the opposite of AIDS - if it's not in remission and she gets sick or hurt such that her white blood cells are deployed to that area, they attack the healthy cells along with the infection. She was initially diagnosed in her 20's and given 5 years... that was a long time ago, but she's doing fine. (Thank you, God!) :)

Suck it up and just get it done. Screwing around with it and waiting only delays the inevitable and allows you to spend more time suffering in pain. On top of that, considering the nature of your antibiotics not controlling it anymore, it could lead to a righteous abscess, which at the very least can result in even more dissolved bone, and at the most can kill.

Get it over with...

Well the poll says what I was thinking..

ASAP and go with Implants. I'm going to call the doctors tomorrow and setup my appts.

I want to thank the 11 "idiots" and the 15 toofless voters. But I think I'm going to stick with a better solution.

OK, but if he's got a raging infection, can't he go to his regular doctor and get a REFERRAL for an oral surgeon and then maybe it would be covered under his health insurance? I know, probably not but this is more of a medical issue than cosmetic and it stinks that the he'll have to go into debt for corrective surgery when he's got health insurance!

That is and will be a possible and probably viable solution to help pay for the surgery itself. The bone grafts and the implants won't be covered at all. But to get the teeth pulled and the infection undercontrol yes, my oral surg. said when it comes time to schedule the surgery they'll look into the possibility of billing it as medical.

My medical actually paid for 2 of my wisdom teeth since they were impacted to be removed.

Thanks for the suggestion.. Had thought about it already B|

I voted for you to get "implants". Some big ass implants - like a D cup or something.

Sure your teath would suck... but who the hell would be looking at them. Besides, new teath are no fun when your on your own... my way - hell, you'd have som titties to play with. B|

If, there's any way, you can swing it, go for the implants. I'm dealing with a couple of partials because I didn't have dental insurance and had to go the cheaper route. The implants are, from what my dentist has told me, 'high maintanence' but, the end result is better. Good luck with your decision.
(Just to be an asshole, I sellected the last choice in your poll)

OK, I admit, I voted for "toofless" but only because I just loved how you spelled it "toofless" like that!;)

Think about it.. without my two front teeth. Wouldn't it be hard to make the "th" sound? So trying to say Toothless would come out Toofless. :D

Well well... here I am scheduling all the doctor visits this is going to take. I kind of put it off. No other reason except lack of funds :( but I'm sucking it up. I can't go any longer without at least having the teeth pulled and the bone grafts done. I can worry about implants or partial when I get to that point.

I have to take the first steps now.

I'm leaning towards implants only for the simple fact they're less maintence and last much longer. Was trying to put it off till mid Nov but :S oh well...

Oh yea anyone in the Houston area a oral surgeon and want to cut me a deal?
