hackish 8 #1 August 30, 2008 I've never packed a Javelin with an RSL attached before. The RSL is velcroed on the inside of the front riser and I'm not sure I understand why it's on the inside. It appears to me that it would almost need to reef the riser out of the reserve container to free itself and activate the reserve. I looked at the manual but they don't have any details. I've attached a photo - does this look correct? I would have expected it to be on the other side of that riser so it could simply come un-velcroed if the main were chopped. -Michael
JerryBaumchen 1,466 #2 August 30, 2008 Hi Michael, It just peels off. Pack it up & pull on the RSL lanyard as it would be pulled during a cutaway. Very little resistance, JerryBaumchen PS) Wait till you see their latest version with the SkyHook; they put the RSL under some folded fabric ala the Infinity rig. hackish 8 #3 August 30, 2008 Once I got the container closed it makes a little more sense. I assume they put it on the other side of the riser to stop it from wearing, unpeeling and velcro-damaging the risers under normal use? Got this entire thing unassembled in boxes late last night and she wanted it done tonight to take to a boogie. Was disassembled because the previous owner put it in the washing machine! -Michael
