RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 August 15, 2005 If not, make sure they do right away. I told my parents a year ago that if something happens to me such as a car wreck, health, jumping..that I want to have an ash dive over Gulf Shores, AL(FloraBama preferably and Emerald Coast Skydivers could arrange that I'm sure)...over the beach. If they can get a kuhl video, then I want Carla's song "Southern Sun" as my Ash Dive Song. I want them to feel the sand in between their toes, I want a sunset, and I want them to look up and smile and know that their baby is just fine. I've lived a life of no regrets...It's all good. The point of this thread is that if you haven't made your intentions known to your family (just in case) please do. _________________________________________
FallinWoman 1 #2 August 15, 2005 I have let my fmaily know that I do not want them to immortalize me on the side of the road if I were to die in a car accident. Likewise, I do not want to be immortalized at a DZ if I were to go in. I want to be remembered where I lived, not where I died. ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!! HydroGuy 0 #5 August 15, 2005 It's even more important to have figured out what to do if you are almost dead or should be dead. It's important to have a patient directive filled out and on file with your primary care physician as well as your attorney. Basically states: 1. Who will be responsible for making decisions for you if you are incapacitated. 2. What measures or steps do you want taken to extend your life. 3. Donor info. I put that I didn't want to be kept alive on machines and stuff. I also made my Dad the one responsible, not my Mom...kinda takes the burden off her, plus I KNOW Dad will follow my wishes. I also added that I would prefer not to have an autopsy if possible...if they can harvest my heart or kidney to save someones life cool, but I don't want to be chopped up for any other reason.Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
ladyskydiver 0 #6 August 15, 2005 Yep...mom knows. I'm an organ donor so anything useable goes to whomever needs it. After that, mom knows to cremate me and have my ashes released in an ash dive. No grave or memorial wanted. And a party - not a funeral - to celebrate that I was...not to morn that I am no longer.Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
