Elisha 1 #1 August 18, 2005 So what is it? I turned 30 a few months ago, and the only "ill effects" I can think of are maybe that my metabolism doesn't let me eat a whole bunch of unhealthy crappy food without gaining weight. Also, I'm guessing that I don't even look 30 to most people, but when I'm completely shaven, people probably think I look around 20. What age do would you like to look like? Why? When I have my goattee, I usually don't get carded (even though I still don't look old), but I'm much more likely when clean shaven. I was at my HS 10-yr reunion 2 years ago and won a bottle of wine as a prize for "changed the least".
NWFlyer 2 #2 August 18, 2005 I don't know the "ideal" age yet, but I'm having a hell of a lot more fun in my 30s than I did in my 20s. I like being old enough to know a little more about how the world works and young enough to really enjoy it. As to what age I'd like to look like? I'm perfectly happy with looking around my age or a little younger, as long as that happens naturally (no surgical maneuvers or botox in my future; I will age gracefully). I've been told I look maybe late 20s right now, which I can deal with. I don't get carded all that much any more, even when I go into the liquor store dressed like a teenager; I guess the teens aren't buying much Patron. kbordson 8 #6 August 18, 2005 Happy Birthday!! (a few months late) I don't think its about calendar age.... whether you're 20 or 40, it's about living the life you want RIGHT NOW and EVERY DAY. What age would I like to be - right now my only perspecitve is from 0-34... Dont remember much of the first decade (must have been the multiple head injuries.... at least that's my excuse), High shcool was fun, I'd replay my 20's for the excitement, I didn't start jumping until I was in my thirties.... I wouldn't trade away any of them though, nor would I try to impress others by "staying young" at 29. Some people say that youth is wasted on the young.... but youth can't be "wasted" and some young people are too old, some are too immature..... I've seen some young 70 year olds, and some "old" 40 year olds. It's all in your mind.

psipike02 0 #10 August 19, 2005 I dont know.....I may not be as wise or knowing about the world just yet, but I'm having a blast being 21. I live everyday like it is my last, because who knows if it might be....tomorrow is not promised and who's to say if I will see 22 (hopefully God has it in his plan to let me get there ) But yea, I agree, its all in your mind, i think all the crazy shiat that I do now at 21, I'll still be doing at 31, 41, and 51 and on..... One of my biggest fears is getting old, so I live for each day.....Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
skybytch 273 #11 August 19, 2005 I'm liking 40. It's a nice round number. I'm really looking forward to 42 though. At 42 I should have the meaning of life and everything else figured out.

windcatcher 0 #13 August 19, 2005 I would agree with a few others, the age you are at now. There are no promises of living another day, you have to live each day as if it's your last; we are all mortal! I can't really think of the number, age-wise, because you can live a selfish, self-centered life up until 2 days before you die; I would say the age you were when you became more loving, selfless, etc would be ideal. Make sense? Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

BillyVance 35 #15 August 19, 2005 Well... I'll be 38 years old next Friday. I probably look like 28 years old, even with a mustache/goatee. Without, I might look as young as 22 or 23. However, these days my body feels like 48. So.... 38 sounds about right! Meux 0 #21 August 20, 2005 Right Now is ideal. Last October I gave myself AFF for my 50th birthday. I thought I'd do a couple jumps and have that out of my system. Wrong, I'm loving this stuff and now have to rearrange everything to fit skydiving in. I wasn't ready for it. I dream about it. I'm healthy, got a job (for the moment), my small circle of friends are wonderful and loyal. I'm loved by a group of people that I love in return, my dog treats me like I'm the center of the universe. I wish I were half the man my dog thinks I am. From here, it seems like it just keeps getting better all the time. If I could go back to 20 or 30 or 40, I'd say no thanks. Right here, right now is good. Cheers, Mo
tdog 0 #22 August 20, 2005 QuoteAlso, I'm guessing that I don't even look 30 to most people We must have a lot in common... I turned 30 this year... A few weeks before my 30th - I was on a commercial flight with a good friend who was younger but spent the weekend razzing me about my age... I sat in the exit row like I always do for the legroom... The flight attendant said, "Are you at least 15 years old, because you have to be that old to sit here?" She did not say it to the group, but just to me, after "inspecting our row." I said, "Ya, I am sixteen, you can just ask my father who is sitting next to me." So far, the best years of my life have been: 9 12 15 16 17 18 20 21 22 25 29
happythoughts 0 #23 August 20, 2005 The age at which you decide what really makes you happy and then you start guiding your life in that direction. Here is how to figure it out: - You are 30. - You've had a job for 10 years probably and you spend 5/7ths of your week there. - You will work until you are 60 (at least). 30 more years, or 3 times as long as you have up to this point. Here are the questions. Is this how you want to spend the rest of your life ? Is there any part of your life that you are unhappy about, but "settle" for whatever it is ? Answer those questions and implement the changes. That will be the ideal age.

To respond back: 1) For the most part, yes. I love WHERE I am living (CA wine country), the church I'm a member of and the family that are nearby. 2) Change: Find someone to get married to and start a family. Get a job with better pay and more vacation so I can travel + skydive more. Maybe #2 is a lot, but whatever.
