JohnRich 4 #7 August 22, 2005 You just gotta send that gum shot into "Parachutist"... (have to be real careful how you say "gum shot")
efs4ever 3 #8 August 23, 2005 I sent it to Skydiving. Don't do Parachutist since they screwed me. Remember, though, photo by turtlespeed.Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

Also, I've never heard anyone rave (in a positive way) about the clever editing at Skydiving. I would be leery of submitting anything to them other than pics. Walt "Parachutist" sent someone to me for a specific picture of Mike Smith jumping a big flag. When the shot came out it was one inch by one inch with no credit and no money. (AND, it was Black and White, when the original was in COLOR) I've had many shots published in Skydiving, and they always gave me credit and MONEY. Russell M. I can definitely understand being upset at them taking artistic license, but since USPA is a membership association and (I assume) a non-profit organization, do you really expect to get paid for submissions? I don't know their policies for submissions, so I'm just askin'--not trying to imply anything. Walt

The "money" was the last thing I was concerned with. They came to me for the picture, and I scrambled to find it and give it to them. I never got my print back either.. Walt I don't know about photos, but I have written a 2-page feature article (including a couple of pictures) for Parachutist, and they paid me for it. I think it was $50 and an extra copy of the magazine."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
