katzurki 0 #1 August 24, 2005 Are there any skydivers for whom their first jump was also their first airplane flight? If you are one, how did it feel on the ride up, and did you pay extra for the double thrill? :)
f1freak 0 #2 August 24, 2005 My first jump was also my first time in a plane..... I always joked that I had flown almost 200 times before i ever landed "with" the plane....HAVE FUN... ...JUST DONT DIE
Bolas 5 #3 August 24, 2005 Not me but whenever I hear of somebody that their jump is their time in the air I tell them when they go back to work/school/home tell people they went in a plane this weekend but they didn't like it and just "left" halfway through. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
hexadecimal 0 #4 August 24, 2005 I've convinced a few friends who have never been in planes to do tandems... they all loved it. I still remember my first time in a plane when I was 6 or 7... I was in awe. I can't imagine how cool it would be to jump out of it the first time
John4455 0 #5 August 24, 2005 Me..... I still don't like that landing stuff............... Also, it never fails, if I fly on a commercial airline, just after take-off I catch myself looking at the back of my wrist to check my altitude... How do ya like it Johnny? I think it's incredibly ballsy to do that and every one of those people always have a blast. Chuck
cocheese 0 #7 August 24, 2005 Yea i see about 5-10 a year.I sort of envy these people. They are the coolest people of the day. First i think; why have you NEVER been in a plane yet ? Then why are you jumping out ?Yea they're crazy.
sistaluv 0 #8 August 24, 2005 Wow ya thats me..... Amazing feeling all at once... I was so happy and stuff that when I started to focus that I was actually jumping out of the plane I forgot to see what it looked like where I was going to land... (forgot about the two radios on my chest too) So the jump master was trying to calm me down and show me exactly where i was going to land and said not to worry I'll end up there.. didn't make sence till it all clicked in (training showed me pics too but being the first flight too wow) And then I was hooked Blue Skies and Terminal Memories 4 Life
jimmytavino 16 #9 August 24, 2005 Yes... Me too!! first airplane ride, ( C 182 ) first jump. I felt I was basically paying for the plane ride,, and the jump would be "optional".... First jump course, gear (28 foot cheapo, chest mt. reserve) lift.... 50 bucks !!!! ( Static Line ) ...... When i landed 15 feet from the target,, I just Knew,, this was for me...... The ride up was just fascinating.. I had a "window seat " I was NEVER nervous about Heights...( as a kid, i spent hours and hours building and playing in Tree Forts,,, I worked with a construction crew and was ALWAYS cool with being on ladders, and scaffolds, and on top of roofs...) and as we climbed,, I marveled at how well we could see everything!!!.. I could pick out the roads on which I drove , to get to the airport, I could distinquish the coffee shop where I stopped on the way to my jump.. I could see cars. and PEOPLE walking around on the ground.. !!!! remember we only went to 3,200 feet..... the noise,, the vibrations, the coooool air when the door was opened...wow... I thought How could anyone NOT enjoy THIS !! ? ...
 hemphog 0 #10 August 24, 2005 My 1st jump with my 1st time in a plane. Our ole C182. I was so pumped just from take off let alone when the door opened! (It was an IAD jump). Then the winds picked up, and blew me backward under my manta into the swamp at the end of our runway. I flew into a tree. It wasn't until sunset until I got outta there.... I was on the 1st load that next morning ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Ya we'll rape the local objects, and maybe do some jumps too!"
