bertusgeert 1 #1 August 21, 2005 My brother in law criticizes whole milk, which I use. He claims skim milk is much healthier. I am 21, and am not fat, excercise regularly and enjoy whole milk taste. What do you drink, and why? What about this? http://www.mercola.com/article/milk/no_milk.htm --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei! jessicat 0 #5 August 21, 2005 Acually skim is healthier for adults. It has more protein than the others. And less fat for your heart! I drink 1 or 2% because I can't stand the watery taste.

jumpinfarmer 0 #14 August 22, 2005 2% For me now. For some reason whole milk doesn't agree with me anymore. When I was growing up we had cows on our farm and had whole milk right from the cow just like the article recommends. I don't think it made us any healthier though. Amazon 7 #15 August 22, 2005 yeah but dont you miss that heavy cream aftertaste... like drinking realllly good ice cream.
jumpinfarmer 0 #16 August 22, 2005 Yea we used to stir it with a fork to break the cream up before pouring it out of the pitcher. We were always told that we shouldn't drink un pasturised milk because you can get sick from it. Nothing ever did happen to us though. I sometimes wish we still had the cows, but then I remember how we never went anywhere because of having to be home to do chores twice a day.
kbordson 8 #17 August 22, 2005 I was raised on raw milk from my grandparents farm, but then after my dad developed diabetes, we had to switch to 2%.... and since then, I sometimes even step it down to 1% with acidophilis. But the taste of the whole milk is by far the best!!!!! -I remember sneaking into the fridge to scoop the cream from the top to my bowl of cereal!!! pincheck 0 #21 August 24, 2005 We changed from semi to full on doctors recommendations. This was due to my son who although reasonably healthy and whole, is on the small side. he was born premature at 28 weeks and spent about 3 months in special care baby unit. Due to his early birth he has always been small but his pediatrician said he may always be small but this may help him develop. to put it into context he is 6 years old just know but fits into 3-4 year old clothes but for everything he's one happy little boy, which makes me happy Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
Girlfalldown 0 #22 August 24, 2005 Milk is icky! If I have a drink that involves some kind of white substance I usually choose soy. There is only 1 kind of milk that's acceptable to me. That's Straus milk. It comes in glass bottles and still has the thick cream plug in the top. Yummy! But that's like ice cream to me which I only eat like once every couple of months. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.) Sen.Blutarsky 0 #23 August 24, 2005 As youngin’s growing up in Bu$%fudge Michigan where the toilet water would freeze over by morning we alternated mouthfuls of Kellogg’s from Battle Crick with sips of whole moo juice poured fresh from the collection pail. Spoonfuls of blackstrap molasses or fresh maple syrup from the neighborhood tree patch completed the routine. Sometime since I got converted to skimmed moo from a plastic container, but I still eat my oatmeal with molasses or maple on top and I go with unpasteurized whole moo when I’m traveling Europe. Soy is fine, too, it’s what I put in my coffee. So, "it depends." Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners!

Problem solved. Whats interesting is that I used to drink whole milk up to the 1990s when I started having problems digesting it (lack of enzymes?) then had to start taking lactase. Somehow I dont think it was me that changed.
lisamariewillbe 1 #25 August 24, 2005 QuoteWhat do you drink, and why? I dont make it a habit to drink milk.... There is alot of information out there that show me milk is not good for the digestive system of humans... however I still use milk on occasion for coffee or cooking and I choose whole milk because there is less processing. Milk is for baby cows.... Im not a baby cow...Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
