funks 1 #1 August 18, 2005 Plain and simple, can money buy happiness? I say YES. I wasnt going to put a "depends" option because it is a pretty straight forward question. However, I knew somebody would eventually bitch about that option not being there
swedishcelt 0 #2 August 18, 2005 What sucks is that money can't buy health. Sometimes without health, happiness is very difficult.

jumpchikk 0 #4 August 18, 2005 Money makes things a lot simplier and a hell of a lot less stressful, so I vote YES too. Less stress = More happiness (for me anyway)

haymangonzo 0 #11 August 18, 2005 No money is a cause for unhappiness, but having plenty doesn't make you automatically happy. Take it from me, I've been there on both sides. Being happy is something you've got to work on and some people need to do a bigger effort than others to be happy. *** Nice to meet you toot!
ladyskydiver 0 #12 August 18, 2005 No. Money may make things easier on you, but it won't make you happy.Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. Guest #13 August 19, 2005 No, but it can buy the things that will in turn bring happiness if it's otherwise difficult to obtain. I was told once a long time ago by a wise man that: "Life is a shit sandwich that you eat one bite at a time, and the more bread you've got, the less shit you have to eat." As far as I am concerned, truer words were never spoken. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

kbordson 8 #16 August 19, 2005 Been on both sides myself (had to help my mom keep the house after my dad had a stroke and the nursing home took just about everything before killing him.... and been comfortable) Decided early that money is not important. Definatley not as important as Family, Friends, and being self-sufficient. (and cool stories - money can help with the cool stories, but you can still have cool stories with little to no money) Money is just a device. In the words of Ayn Rand "Money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. " So if you don't have the paper greenback, just make sure that you have some other means of trade. I say no. Karen
