Jeth 0 #1 August 26, 2005 I am just curious about other companies tuition reimbursement policies. My shitty company requires you to stay 3 years after they pay for a course. At my husband's company its only 6 months. What's your company's policy? How much do they pay? Do they require an A in the course? Just curious. Thanks. "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." Buried 0 #2 August 26, 2005 I can't remember its either 6 mths or 1 yr.. they cover 85% ugrad classes and 75% of graduate classes. They also provide you ~8k per calendar yr, but you get taxed a little after they provide ~5k$ that yr. *edit - dont think they require any grade in the class.. you can fail for all they care Where is my fizzy-lifting drink? PhreeZone 20 #5 August 26, 2005 Mine was odd. They would pay back as soon as the course was over with no obligation to stay past that point. They gave you $1500 per year (book money basically). Word came down they were going to increase it to $2000 but then they started adding stipulations to it. Eventually the money was up to $3000 per year but it was so loaded with riders that no one used it. Things like it had to be towards a major of the companies chosing, it could'nt interfere with work (After hours/weekend pages included), had to maintain at least a 3.5 overall and an A in the course. I had to have preapproval from Supervisor/ manager, director and HR to take each class. They could deny any class they did not like on a whim. Since I was a techie I had to take only computer classes, business classes would not be eligable even though it was towards a degree. Lots of Gen-Ed classes tended to get overridden by HR since they did not see why a techie needed to be in Finance classes I finally graduated and the last 2 semesters only mangaged to get like 3 classes paid for even though my manager had a Personal development plan of me getting my degree to get a promotion/raise Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
mailin 0 #6 August 26, 2005 I left my degree with 0 debt because my employer(s) paid for my classes. I had 3 jobs during my time in school. All of them had the same policy. 100% reimbursement (minus books from one job) Grade of atleast a C no time table to stay after course 3 years sucks!! Stiner 0 #7 August 26, 2005 My company has no vesting period. You must simply be employed for the duration of the course and when requesting reimbursement. I believe the policy is a max of $5k per calander year.

Every class has to directly apply to my current job, must be pre-approved by prez of company, can't interfere with work, must get A in course, all books belong to company... and gotta stay 3 yrs afterwards or pay it back. It sucks!! So I'm funding my $40k+ master's degree with loans. "At 13,000 feet nothing else matters." PFRX!!!!!
