marcandalysse 0 #1 August 27, 2005 Happy Birthday to the Blue God Krishna! We are at a friend's house watching live India satellite TV, the celebrations for Krishna's birthday. There must be 100s of thousands of people there. They have a competition where they form human pyramids of dozens of people to try to reach a gift up on a pole. People are dressed in monkey costumes and like Hindu gods and kings, and dancing girls on stage doing bollywood song and dance. sid 1 #2 August 27, 2005 When I was a Hare Krsna, Janmastami (Krsna's Birthday) was always one of my favorite celebrations, we would eat really well - I mean REALLY well, with Indian sweet rice and candies and beautiful dhal (dammit - now I'm hungry)........ The Christians haven't figured this out yet - the most you get there is stale bread and cheap wine.
