NASCAR Pre-race

Recommended Posts

Did anyone catch the pre-race ceremonies for the race at Bristol Motor Speedway last night?

I usually skip those as I can stand the announcers only barely during the races, but tuned in a tad early and caught the flag jump into the racetrack. For those of you who don't know, BMS is an extremely banked half-mile oval and is tiny as NASCAR tracks go. What made the flag jump so cool was not only the huge flag, but the fact that the trailing video guy had air-to-ground vid!

Imagine jumping into what amounts to an extra large football stadium with over 165,00 spectators packed to the rim and landing on the 50-yard line along the team bench. Great accuracy and control was needed and even the announcer kept saying "Wow!". Absotively kewl view.

Good job, skydivers,. Good job indeed.

If anyone knows who these jumpers are, please convey our thanks.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

I missed the pre-race show. I was mowing my lawn and just barely saw the start of the race. I don't know if it was who I think it was but, a real good friend of mine jumps with huge flags into NASCAR tracks before the race. He's from Indy and has wanted for years to jump into the 'Brickyard'. So far... no luck. I'll have to check with him to see if, he did Bristol.

If I was in New Orleans my ass would be in Houston at a friends house by now. since they are something like 10ft below sea level they should leave. Were I'm at is a good place, good strong building and no big trees to come crashing through the roof so I am good. Thank you for your concern, I feel sooooo loved!;)

I expect this is gods way of telling us NOT to watch nascar

Well there are gonna be some pissed off god then. HE should be happy I missed the race last night because I was working Double time trying to get one of our planes back together that was broke so they could fly it out of here. I was mad I missed the race but I was trying to listen to it on the radio in the hangar.

strictly to annoy others... :)

And you're doing a damn fine job.

Nice highjack.

This thread was to give credit to some skydivers who did a fine job representing us to millions, but thanks to you, it's gone right into the toilet.

If anyone else is still reading this at this point, please let me know who these jumpers were, or if you know them, thank them for us.
