mikecm469 1 #6 August 19, 2005 The B-17 also wasn't there this year. it was late but the DC-3 made it. Kirlin got the news helicopter to fly jumpers on weds. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
RevJim 0 #7 August 19, 2005 The only "specialty" that didn't show was the sikorsky chopper. It's on a government contract at the moment. What would you do as an owner? WFFC and probably make fuel costs back, or government work? Duh.... Oh, you silly people, that me say this again, VERY LOUDLY... ROD WAS BACK THIS YEAR!!! Damn, people. Rod is a person, and he was there. The 412 was not, but Rod was, and that alone really made my convention. Baby steps, people, baby steps. I would love to see the 412 return along with Rod, but just seeing him come back at all, after what he went through... a tip of my hat to him! Long live the Dog Pound! They are fighting, from what I heard, but it doesn't look good. Also, for those that missed out on the CARVAIR this year.... The owner ab-so-freakin-lutely LOVED us. That said, it didn't fly much, so I wouldn't expect to see it back next year. Considering only 21 were built, and only 3 are left, I'd say if you got it in your log book this year, you're going to be among an elite few... me=Carvair #83+Carvair JM#1/2 It's your life, live it! Sen.Blutarsky 0 #12 August 19, 2005 QuoteAlso, for those that missed out on the CARVAIR this year.... How do you jump a Carvair? Stall it, pop the nose open and stream out? Edited to add (yes I had been kidding): That is one of the ugliest freakin' aircraft I have ever seen. So naturally I want to jump it, although I'm not excited about a 45-minute CTA Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners! We joked that we would pop open the nose and just flush 'em out the tail. LOL Actually, it's a rear exit side door, that happens to be freakin huge! Bigger than an otter door, single file out, and yet someone still managed to kick me in the hand on exit from the second load. It's not official, it may be back next year if it's not working, but I wouldn't bet on it. Elisha 1 #15 August 19, 2005 Do you (or anyone) know how many Ray has sold to other DZ's? I thought they just came out around a year (or less ago). From all these posts I read here, it sounds like he's sold several. (also, you never responded to my pm around a week or so ago).

Buried 0 #21 August 19, 2005 at least it flew even tho it was a little large. I was nice of him to send it down and let me take a look at it and get a few jumps on it. Glad I was able to test fly a few other suits after that weekend . wish i had a camera for that exit. From all these posts I read here, it sounds like he's sold several. What I heard of are the two he has based at SkyDance (thought they do roam as show aircraft), and about 3 more in service at other DZ's. Haven't talked to him in a while about it but it seems to be going well.
