kingbunky 3 #27 September 1, 2005 prices here in eastern canada were at about $1 per litre a month ago, jumped up to about $1.14, today it's $1.30. i use premium so it's more like $140 per litre for me. glad i get decent mileage and can walk/bike to work most of the time. not today on account of katrina putting in her appearance."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." skymama 37 #28 September 1, 2005 I just listened to a guy from AAA on the radio. He said the only reason that there was a shortage last night was because people went into panic mode because of rumors. He said the supplies will get to us and no one needs to change their weekend plans. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
yardhippie 0 #29 September 1, 2005 Quote biodiesel anyone ?! soon it will be cheaper than "dinosaur" fuels. unfortunately no stations around here. just in CA... I work in an industry that loves to hear that term... agriculture. Especailly in the mid-west. Farmers like equipment that is biodiesel friendly, mainly b/c it perpetuates their existence. One of the main parts of my job is answering questions about our products, and a big on is people wanting to know how much of a ratio their particular unit will take.Goddam dirty hippies piss me off! ~GFD "What do I get for closing your rig?" ~ me "Anything you want." ~ female skydiver Mohoso Rodriguez #
swedishcelt 0 #30 September 1, 2005 Quote I found a few stations like that. I already had a half tank of regular in my car and I wasn't sure if I could mix premium with it, so I drove on. Does anyone know if it is ok to mix gas like that? Okay, not to tease a moderator or anything but... that was just the cutest question.

skymama 37 #32 September 1, 2005 Quote that was just the cutest question. Well, you never know...I don't know what makes premium gas different than regular gas. He said the supplies will get to us and no one needs to change their weekend plans. That's exactly what I said here! I said if you don't really need gas don't go add to a huge line just to get it early, you'll just make the problem worse for the stations, and for those who are really running on empty and need a fillup. And people disagreed with me and said fill up while you can... If we're going to run out we're going to run out, a few days and a few dollars does NOT make a huge difference. I'll fill up when I get near empty, like I always do. Quote Well, you never know...I don't know what makes premium gas different than regular gas. Basically you take regular gas, add some premium pellets, and shake it up. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
Buried 0 #34 September 1, 2005 yeah it's pretty pointless. I for one am also waiting to get out of chicago before I add any more gas. gas was 3.60 for reg (up .50) at the gas station right up the steet, while the one 1 blk away was still at 2.89 or 2.98. not sure what it is today. regardless a .20 increase is only an extra 2$ per 10 gallons, not a big deal. the 50cents incease is 5$ per 10 gallons which still isn't bad as long as you aren't filling up every day or other day. IMO people who own SUVs that are not used for work related activites have no right to complain, gas prices has always been a factor (for some) for a while now. no surprise.
