Organization helping the animals of Hurricane Katrina

I know I would devastated if during a natural disaster I got separated from my babies. This organization goes into areas that are evacuated and helps get the animals out, then does their best to reunite them with their owners or find them new homes if the owners can't be found.

They are currently in one of the affected areas today and are starting their rescue efforts.

The Noah's Wish team reached Slidell, Louisiana today. We have met with emergency management and animal control. Tomorrow we will begin to provide assistance for animals in this devastated area. Almost everyone we talked with this afternoon had a story to tell of an animal. Unfortunately, many of the stories were of animals that were left behind when people had to evacuate. People are getting desperate to find their animals.

Just another thing to add, get your pet microchipped it's cheap insurance that could help bring your baby home if it looses it's collar.
