howardwhite 6 #1 September 1, 2005 In March, 2003, Cajones started a thread, "Saving Lives with your computer," about the distributed computing effort to explore the secret life of proteins. While there has been no discussion here for some time, DZ.commers continue to contribute to this effort. The latest certificate of achievement is attached. Currently Flygurl is the hands-down leader in contributions. I contributed for a while under a different user name, and have recently started up again. If you have a computer that's on all the time, has spare cycles, and, preferably, is always on line, consider signing up. Info at:http://folding.stanford.edu/ The DZ.com team # is 31515. howardwhite 6 #4 September 1, 2005 Hadn't known about Extreme Overclocking. Cool site, indeed. Just trying to get DZ.com up higher in the rankings. (I'm at #20, having only restarted to contribute a couple of weeks ago.) HW
RevJim 0 #5 September 2, 2005 arrggghhh! Just realized that after a recent re-format, I forgot an underscore in my user name, effectivly making a new user. Almost 2000 points allocated to the wrong name. dammit! Well, at least it was only on one processor. I think I'm back down to 10 now...It's your life, live it!
