Beerlight 0 #1 September 2, 2005 Anyone know the conditions/status of Interstate 10 eastbound from Beaumont, TX to Gulfport, MS? I've contacted AAA and the DOT and not much luck... Any info mucho appreciated. Buck

BillyVance 35 #3 September 2, 2005 I do know that I-10 has been destroyed in some places and state police have closed it off, but exactly what point to what point, I don't know. It's going to be hard to get through so you might look for an alternative route further north."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
cmchristian 0 #4 September 2, 2005 Pretty much forget taking I-10 right now. I just made the trip taking I-20. I-20 was clear, just getting gas was tricky in MS. I traveled from TX to GA yesterday. If you do find a gas station with gas you will be waiting. I waited for nearly 2 hours. Hope this helps Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'" BillyVance 35 #5 September 2, 2005 Also, another idea... if you're worried about not finding gas along the way, then bring a couple of 5 gallon containers and fill 'em up near home, and put 'em in the trunk (car)... Probably not the safest thing to do, but if I really had to go, I might do it."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
Beerlight 0 #6 September 2, 2005 Two of my friends departed Houston this morning enroute to Gulfport with supplies/equipment. His relatives live in G-port. I'll relay info to him about I-20. Thanks, Buck
