skymama 37 #1 September 2, 2005 At least that's what I just found out what my neighbors think of me! I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been very good at meeting my neighbors because I'm hardly ever home and when I am home, I usually have plenty to keep me busy inside the house. A friend of mine met one of my neighbors across the street, and she's the one who said "everyone" thinks I'm snooty. Here are her reasons: When we had our neighborhood garage sale, all my clothes were hanging and stuff was on tables instead of laying all over the driveway. Everyone was jealous because people kept coming to my house instead of theirs.(That was my sister-in-law's doing, she's a garage sale regular and knew what to do!) During the hurricanes, I boarded up my house and left for weeks. (My brother boarded up my house, I had no say in it. I went to my boyfriends because I was so claustrophobic in a boarded up house. I stayed away for 3 days because he had power and I didn't!) I don't wave to people. (Now, that's just silly. If someone would wave, I'd wave back. It's just common courtesy. I must not have seen them wave). Other things she reported: I'm gone all the time I wear a lot of short skirts A man comes by to visit my house a lot And wait till I tell my son...their daughter is secretly in love with him and watches him play basketball and mow the grass! Isn't it funny how people pervceive things? So, don't bother waving to me at the dz. Just give me a big hug instead! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

mailin 0 #3 September 2, 2005 jeepers creepers Don't worry about them, they're obviously small minded. Well, if thats what it takes to get 'loved' by your neighbors I guess I'll always be an outcast. I keep to myself for many reasons - one of which being that my mother in law's corvette was stolen from her garage last year by her 'loving' next-door neighbor JenArianna Frances
PsychoBob 0 #4 September 2, 2005 Sounds like your neighbors need to get a life. It is quite pathetic if all they have to do is sit around criticize what you do or don't do. I think they are just jealous because you're HOT and they're NOT!"I'm not a gynecologist but I will take a look at it" RB #1295, Smokey Sister #1, HellFish #658, Dirty Sanchez #194, Muff Brothers #3834, POPS #9614, Orfun Foster-Parent?" ACMESkydiver 0 #16 September 2, 2005 Meh, people said the same about me in college. Truth is, I was kicked out of my sorority because some of the senior members thought that I didn't 'fit in' and they said I didn't wave back at them when on campus if someone yelled 'Hi Jaye'. That's just stupid, I would never intentionally ignore someone, even someone I don't like. It isn't in my nature. If I 'ignored' a wave or call out it's because I didn't see them or hear them. I didn't spend enough time in the sorority house either, apparently. I didn't go sit next to everyone at lunch time (being a freshman, why the hell didn't they say 'Hey come sit over by us, poor young, scared, frosh'?? ) Nope. Apparently I was s'posed to initiate everything. Geesh! It sounds exactly like your neighborhood! And I HIGHLY doubt that it's "everyone" that views you that way!! They always say sh*t like that to tear people down. It's sad, really. You'll continue to be my favorite mama I've never met regardless of your snobby neighbors, Andrea! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. skymama 37 #17 September 2, 2005 QuoteYes, what he said. I think so too! I couldn't tell you the first thing about their comings and goings. I really don't care what they do. As long as they keep up their property and don't bother me with loud parties and such, I'm happy. My friend said to the husband, "and what do you think of her? She's pretty cute, huh?" She said he laughed nervously and then looked over at his wife and stopped. GTAVercetti 0 #19 September 2, 2005 QuoteQuoteAnd here is what I think of your neighbors: busybodies with little to no life of their own. Yes, what he said. Actually, I get the exact same thing, but luckily not from neighbors sans lives. People who first meet me think I am cold and mean. Mostly because I suck at the small talk and so I am quiet and reserved at first. I think just about everyone at my DZ was scared and unsure of me when I first started going there. I just taking a while to warm up is all. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
skymama 37 #20 September 2, 2005 I think it's really easy to mistake snootiness for shyness. I'm also pretty shy at first. okalb 104 #22 September 2, 2005 Funny, Laura and I always say that our neighbors hate us. They think we are drug dealers and I am pretty sure they tell their kids to stay away from our house. We live in a very snooty upscale gated community. On the weekends we are at the dz while they work on their yards and such. We both work from home when not traveling, so they never see us go to work. Most of our friends are skydivers. The come over during the week and hang out til all hours of the night, since the DZ is closed on Tue and Wed. Most of them drive beat up cars. We don't have kids and don't participate in the "community activities" we are never invited to any of the block parties or anything like that. The kids don't even ring our bell on Halloween which means we end up having to eat all of the candy ourselves. Oh well, screw em!Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

sinker 0 #25 September 2, 2005 isn't that just crazy. here are people who actually SEE you and form an inaccurate mental picture of who you are as a person. here we are, "seeing" you through the internet, coming to know you as a sweet, kind, compassionate woman. Isn't that odd. I think you're great, and not just b/c you didn't ban me so many moons ago when I should have been (remember that?).
