Dougiefresh 0 #1 January 21, 2005 Fellow jumpers! I'm hopefully going to graduate soon and I've started my job search. If you think you could provide me with a connection I will be forever grateful. I tend to express my graditude in the form of jump tickets. I'm looking for a full time job in the materials science field. I have experience with MEMS and microfabrication, as well as biotech skills. Please PM me if you think you can help. Thanks so much!Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

Dougiefresh 0 #4 January 24, 2005 Sure, just give me the process flow. And a cleanroom to do it in. And the time to do it. And $50/hr. So basically no. truckerbase 0 #6 January 24, 2005 If you can handle the doping aspects of colloidal synthesis for DOD R+D gel packs for Molecular or DNA computers you'll find a lucrative career with the government (security clearance), but an advanced degree would be the clincher. Post grad professors can offer this path if so...
Dougiefresh 0 #7 September 7, 2005 BUMPY. sorry for the self-promotion, but I'm currently working full time for an hourly salary of $0. I need to pay for my habit...Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
mdrejhon 8 #8 September 7, 2005 Hit all cylinders. Diversify. Get the word of mouth through friends, family, etc. Do the online job sites too, but don't just do online resumes only, go to some of the office buildings in a suit and present a copy of the same your resume in person too. FedEx instead of Fax to grab attention better. Use a resume improvement service to get ideas of making resumes more eyecatching. Offer free overtime. Do some volunteer work too, in due process of getting eventual real work. Show initiative. Read the jobs-wanted ads in science-related and biotech-related publications. Visit your university/college again and find out what companies have partnered or recruited there. Etc etc. It's painful, I know. Keep working at it!
