B license exam

Recommended Posts

I'm taking my B license exam next weekend - yet looking through the SIM I can't find anything that seems it should be studied specifically for the exam.

Can anybody help me find what to study? I'm a very visual learner and was planning on making flash cards...

Thanks!

Yea it wasn't that fun, but I thought the test was pretty straight forward, but I was happy I looked at my cloud clearance section again.

When are you taking it?

Not to be facetious nor condescending...

Read and learn the entire thing....some good stuff for your safety, not just passing exams...but I do see that focusing on certain items will help you pass the exams.

On top of that, I always say talk to your instructors...they will/should know lots of great stuff that is not contained in the SIM and FARs.
My reality and yours are quite different.

just page 215 or all of:
AC 90-66A—RECOMMENDED STANDARD
TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND PRACTICES
FOR AERONAUTICAL OPERATIONS AT
AIRPORTS WITHOUT OPERATING
CONTROL TOWERS

Page 215 has all of the section references you need to study. It's the actual document page number - ignore the PDF page number.

Hi John,

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but the info on page 215 focus' on:

9. OTHER TRAFFIC PATTERNS

is that what you were referring to?

I writing a computer program right now to help myself and others study for this. ;)

Jen,

Good luck on the test and if you can, take the "C" test the same day. The results stay in effect for a year. Next time I see you, we can take care of the rw stuff.

Tom Buch has a nice write up at this linkhttp://theblueskyranch.com/STA.php on studying for license exams.

Be concerned with things relating to the B license, it's requirements and what it entails you to do,

Night jumps
water jumps
opening requirements for B holders
EP hard decks for B holders
BSR's
Cloud Clearances
When to wear your seat belt on the plane

Good luck
Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
