Contrary to popular belief, the reserve bridle doesn't produce enough drag to deploy the reserve.

-Blind

Wow.... I have seen it create enough drag on at least 5 occasions.... two of those being real life emergencies and the other 3 were staged p/c entanglements. I am not saying it will in every case, but maybe Blind can educate the rest of us on the odds.

I would be interested in finding that out too. I could see the reserve still opening with the bridle around an arm or leg, but wouldn't around the torso hold the flaps closed, or keep the freebag in the container?

Some manufactures have 18' + of reserve bridle that would create much more drag. It also depends on the tightness of the reserve container. Like I said, I have seen it work many times before. I have also known situations where it didn't clear. That said, I can't *blindly* say they don't work and would much rather have a 4" bridle during an entanglement than a 1" bridle. Thoughts?
