I've spoken today with people at the Tent City at Kmart and Walmart in Waveland, MS as well as NASA Base in Stennis who are also opening up a Tent City to get people out of their dangerous environment.. and their needs are as follows:

Soap
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Combs/Hairbrushes
Underwear (kids/adults)
Deodorant
Towels
Pots/pans
#10 cans of Food (LARGE)
Can openers
Lots of baby supplies such as formula, diapers, babywipes, etc
Kids clothing Ages 3-14
Dog and Cat Food
Bottled water and ice is being taken care of by the National guard.
I'm also delivering unconditional love,support and BIG KATEE HUGS of comfort.

I know it's short notice, but I'm planning to head that way next weekend September 17. That will be one of several trips, so even if people would like to contribute and can't by September 17, I'm planning future trips as well. ANYTHING you can send will be greatly appreciated. The recovery in the Gulf States will be a long ongoing process...I plan to continue to keep going back and help all I can even after the media is long gone.

On my trek up I-95, I'll be coming thru Sebastian, Titusville, Deland, and Jacksonville before I take I-10 over.

Here in West Texas, we sent 6 - tractor-trailer (53') rigs loaded with water, canned goods, paper goods and etc. went to the Hattiesburg area, last week-end. This morning, 22-more rigs headed back there. The Salvation Army is collecting clothing. We've raised over $100,000.00, matched, dollar for dollar by Best Buy. We're still collecting... till they tell us to stop. This isn't going to be over for a long , long time.

I think it's really cool you're putting this together.

A friend of mine was thinking about trying to take a pickup truck load of stuff into Mississippi next weekend also. But we weren't too sure about what kinds of things were needed or exactly where to take them.

If you can, keep me updated on what your plans are this weekend. Since you'll probably be stopping in Mobile, maybe we can combine our efforts somehow.

And let me know if you need any extra manpower for the last leg. I'm sure I can get some people together.

That'd be awesome!!! PM me your cell and I'll do the same...I'll call you when I get there..I'm commiting the entire week for trips to the people who are not leaving their homes/property to even get to the distribution centers..or they simply lack transportation..they are my focus! My brother said that manpower is a HUGE need..he's the ambassador for Philip Morris Gulf States area and would love to accept your offer as well as your colleagues.
I'm so impressed that my first exhusband and his wife drop-shipped lots of diapers and teddybears for me to take up there..it makes my heart more than happy!
