New job sucks...

Recommended Posts

So, I moved myself 1000 miles across the country (well, Texas to Arizona) this past weekend. I accepted a position at a rapidly growing company because the offer was too good to pass up. Well, the new job sucks... It may not have sucked, but it seems as if the interview was the honeymoon, and now it's over. I think my boss forgot to mention things such as my pay will be $1.25 less than what was originally offered, and I'll get that $1.25 over a 90-day period. Other things were left out like I am responsible for changing the cat box, I have to make the morning coffee (even though I don't drink it), and I have to wash all the dishes the president as well as 50 construction workers use during the day... I'm looking for a new job! B|

Sounds like a family business. Those can be great or suck miserably. Talk with your boss and express your feelings (after you have explored the options for a new job). You've got nothing to lose.

At least you don't have to give the 50 workers a hand job each morning..Then you would really earn that extra 1.25

do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?

Use 72 scoops of coffee per pot...one round of that and someone else will take over the duty when they come down out of the trees.

You know how annoying it is when the dishes don't get done properly and there's little snudges stuck all over the plate? Well......
My reality and yours are quite different.

No, I'm thinking more along the lines of using 72 scoops of cat litter for the coffee... yep, that would definitely take care of me ever making the coffee again. :D

I'm a princess at my work, the senior partner has it all ready for me when I get there. :P

Shari, you just got to learn how to train em... sorry that your new job sucks though. Hey, I'm working over 50 hours this week and next so my LIFE sucks...yay me [:/]

Isn't that illegal?

I think so... :|

And, about the coffee... Instead of the 5 scoops of coffee I'm supposed to put it, I accidently put in 7 heaping scoops... Like *I* am supposed to know how to make coffee...

It's a probationary wage, sometimes the will retroactively give you the $$$ after 90 days, sometimes it's just a guaranteed raise after 90 days. Most employers tell you if they are doing it in the interview though. [:/]

Excellent news! Although you won’t believe this right now you just took a major step in your life. You haven't failed yet so you need to press on, fail, and learn. But keep trying to prevail according to your definition of success and do not give up no matter what. You are way ahead of your peers who settle and, assuming you pay attention to your health, you will get _everything_ you want in life and you’ll actually get to enjoy it and be truly happy, I’m certain and you will be too. Cheers.
