D numbers of old time jumpers

It's embarrassing -- I'm not real sure when I got it, but around 1980 it was 6296. Or maybe it was 1979.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

That's about right, I qualified back then but didn't send it in for a few years...my roommate qualified the same time I did, and did send HIS in at the the time... mid-1978 and he's D-56XX

For those of you who got your D license between 1979-1980, what is your D number?

From my back-issues of "Parachutist", the range of D licenses issued from Jan. 1979 to Dec. 1980 is: D-5526 to D-6738.

There were such cool advertisements in these old mags:

- "5 Cell Conversion to 7-Cell"
- "Cruisair"
- "F-111"
- "Security AeroConical"
- "252 Parafoil"
- "Wanted: 35' & 28' Canopies"
- "Fox Harness & Container"
- "McElfish"
- "Paralert"
