lawrocket 3 #51 September 22, 2005 I put this on a webcast since I'm at my office. I gotta say it's pretty cool how that guy landed dead center on the runway and kept it dead center on the runway the whole way. It looked like it was smoother than half the landings I've been on. mx757 4 #55 September 22, 2005 QuoteSo if they have to circle to burn fuel...why didn't they just go to New York??? with gear down.. if they went to New York, the drag from gear down in flight, would used up their fuel load BEFORE they reached NY, plus it would be dark by time they got to NY. going to LAX was smart thing to do. rwieder 0 #59 September 22, 2005 This particular aircraft could not dump fuel, but could burn up to 6,000 LBS an hour. One notation i made from comentary from the reporters is the cabin crew cut off the t.v. monitors for about the last 30 minutes or so to keep the passengers from seeing what was going on. I call BS on this one. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
