flyangel2 2 #1 September 21, 2005 I'm watching CNN, and they just now reported there is a Jet Blue Airline aircraft flight # 292 that can't get it's landing gear down. They have dumped fuel in the ocean already. Flying over Long Beach.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. GiaKrembs 0 #2 September 21, 2005 Wow, I hope they are able to get the runway cleared and foamed.... there is a ton of residential area around the Long Beach airport... not to mention the 405 freeway. edited to add: just listened to news radio and it is the nose gear, it's stuck down and locked. They are probably going to divert to LAX for landing instead of Long Beach. Flight took off from Burbank to NY. g Raddest ho this side of Jersey #1 - rest in peace brother Beth lost her cherry and I missed it .... you want access to it, but you don't want to break it. mx757 4 #3 September 21, 2005 Why am I NOT surprised? Jet Blue send it's aircraft for overhaul / maintenance to South America, namely El SALVIDOR They pay these people almost nothing. They have no FAA license or oversight, and I doubt they can read the aircraft manuals (English)

I'm not sure as I don't work on Airbus aircrafts, but I don't think these smaller airbus aircraft can dump fuel. I think they might be flying around Long Beach / LAX burning off fuel, not dumping the fuel. The heavier aircraft like 767 and 777 can because they can take off with much more fuel than they are allowed to land with so in emergency they dump fuel to lighten aircraft. I don't think these smaller Airbus aircraft can dump fuel? I might be wrong.. as I don't work on Airbus just the Boeing 767 & 777 who's systems I know pretty well..
