efs4ever 3 #1 September 24, 2005 I've lived in the same apartment for almost seven years. The carpet was nasty when I got here and got progressively worse every time the cat let loose a wet hairball. Tonight I finished the last of my project to replace the carpet with laminate flooring I bought at Sam's Club. The apartment paid me for the supplies. This is my darkroom / computer room. Looks nice, huh?Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

The stuff I used came from Sam's Club. It's $1.50 per foot and now comes with the foam attached to the planks. It's a no brainer to put down. I just ripped up the carpet and tack strips and put it down.Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

It's a tongue and groove system that clicks and locks. Watch the DVD that comes with a kit. I've heard that renters in Europe put it down and then take it with them when they move. Once you have it you won't want carpet again. Especially if you have a cat or dog.Russell M. freeflyfree 0 #10 September 24, 2005 buuaaahaha I can't believe this thread...I had a stupid accident installing laminates. my safety goggles fogged up an I weNt to push a piece of laminate that was next to the saw and I TOUCHED THE FREAKING BLADE!!!!!!! I still see the exact moment in my mind when I close my eyes and go to sleep at nights. I lost the tip of my left middle finger at the first joint. bone and everything. couldn't be reattached. I leave you with some pics while I sit here wondering how am I going to play guitar and if I'll be able to make a left front riser turns in the future...If you jump in miami i'll see you soon. DeNReN 0 #12 September 24, 2005 I'm right in the middle of buying a house that the previous owner had started to renovate and laid laminate flooring...stuff looks great and is not overly expensive....and it dosent take a rocket scienctist to install it...I will have to pull up a lot of his edge work and redo the trickier cuts....inch gaps are hard to cover with moulding

I don't have anything more than .5 inch gap, though. It'll be easier to come up with a larger trim than it will be to redo the floor. Russell M.
