masterrig 1 #52 September 23, 2005 George, will work! Junior, Son, any of those. Brangus are pretty easy keepers. Black Baldies are a bit 'pig' headed and Limosin are just plain stupid! Getcha a longhorn! They are pretty easy keepers and they are the State 'cattle' of Texas. Remember... you're in Texas now. Bigger is better. Think 'bigger'. Always eat everything on your plate and save room for pie! Chuck

masterrig 1 #60 September 23, 2005 Rattle-bug = Rattlesnake. Friend of mine, killed a 5-footer, this past week-end. Down toward the Valley in Texas, they have huge rattlesnakes. Bog ol' fat things. The 'menu' is better there, I guess. Chuck

masterrig 1 #64 September 23, 2005 Depends. If, they find enough to eat, away from town, they shouldn't be around. If, pickins are slin, they might stray your way. Just watch it around rock piles, or any good hiding place. In town, I wouldn't be concerned. Get a couple cats! Cats, will damned sure keep them away. Now, there's another snake we have here called a 'Bull' snake. They kinda look like a rattlesnake but, they are not pit vipers and don't have rattles. They eat rodents and are good. I've seen them kinda coil and hiss but, they won't hurt you. Chuck

Shotgun 1 #66 September 23, 2005 QuoteYou're EVIL Why is everyone always telling me that??? They could probably ship it to you in Kosovo. It would just be thawed out and ready to eat by the time it gets to you. (Damnit, this stuff won't thaw out quick enough. I want some brisket NOW!) QuoteHmm.... how about the "Pig Stands"? They're not too bad, for a quick sandwich place... I'm not familiar with the "Pig Stands"... Funny, I never cared much for BBQ sandwiches. I just like a plate of brisket with beans and coleslaw, and I am VERY picky about the brisket.

masterrig 1 #69 September 23, 2005 ...you shoulda' been there! We had our annual Ranch Rodeo, last week-end. My wife and I are on the staff. WELL. I got to be a judge for the BBQ cook-off. I got to taste chicken, ribs, chili and brisket! My God! There are some hellacious BBQ-ers! All of it was good. Some was a bit better. Chuck
Shotgun 1 #70 September 23, 2005 Yum! I haven't been to a rodeo in ages. I used to go to the Pecos Rodeo every year with my dad. I always liked the dances they had at the rodeo, where I would get to two-step with all the cowboys.
boinky 0 #71 September 23, 2005 YUMMMY!!! Sounds like fun. Hey do me a favor? The next time this comes around, will you let me know? I have a truck that's just DYING to tour Texas!
