jimmytavino 16 #4 September 24, 2005 Yup... Great Characters one and all.... Notice Glenn Headley ( sp ).. as Trumans' G F...? might be one her first roles....... I liked the scene where they decide to "hitch a ride" with the freight train...... and when the cessna is flown UNDER the highway bridge and then lands on the expressway.....Cool!!!! And of course Trumans... very very accurate, and correct 1st jump course..... including blackboard diagrams..."hey dude, ya' mind if I 'fire one up' ? What a lame movie... Probably not....... No one ever said it was an Academy Award Show , Picture of the Year. But it's not Lame!!!,,, and certainly not stupid..... It's more like a 'long time ago movie',,(1984), that sorta developed a cult following over the years.. The skydiving scenes were pretty accurate FOR THAT TIME.......Small plane, "renegade" DZO, ( who did it "his own way", and was basically correct,, but was still Out there ! ) In the 70's and the 80's it was... No rules at a lot of places.... You have a cessna? you have a couple of rigs? you have a pilot and a a place with a runway???? Then you Had a "Skydiving School"train 'em gear 'em up, board 'em and drop 'em.... THAT was the style of the time,,, beat up gear, beat up airplanes, burned out Jump Masters..... .... Sure sure the "love story" sorta drags,,,,, and Costner can be irritating ,,, but it's still a classic to many..... and has some good air to air footage........ Anyway ????? who made you SISKEL & EBERT!?????
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
