Would you pay over $400 to see a concert?

Recommended Posts

I'm surprised that anyone goes to see a big-name concert. You would have to pay me to go see one. Last one I saw was Bjork at Red Rocks a few years ago. After getting a thorough body-cavity search, forced to dump out our good bottled water to buy shitty Aquifina (think Pepsi, without the tar), standing in line for over an hour to get in, getting yelled at by the security people, the fun really started. Good thing we didn't have cameras, because Bjork, being a pagan, forced the security guards to confiscate them all so the pictures didn't steal her soul, or something :S. Getting hands and feet stepped on by stoned audience members, food fights, overpriced, really bad food there was a very long performance by a cover band, and a relatively short one by the main performer.

Sure, the music was good. But it's not worth going to prison to hear it - I'd rather listen to my iPod.

Now I know why a fella at work was alittle concern with a underwater camera I was operating. Someone told me that he believes that his soul would be taken. Pagan and Souls...does this have anything to do with witchcraft i.e wicca?

$400.00 bucks on a concert NEVER. They are never that good.

...which reminds me of the old one-liner:

I wanna see the Cream reunion soooo bad, but to pay for it I'd have to first have a baby, then sell it on the black market.

I saw Cream in 1967 and the Stones in Chicago in September 2005.

I paid $110 for the Stones and it was well worth it..

Forgot to mention that the 6 pounds I paid to see Cream in 1967 represented a much larger fraction of my net worth than the $110 to see the Stones in 2005.

And for the $110 we also got to see "Los Lonely Boys" fromTexas and the Blues Brothers (Dan Ackroyd & Jim Belushi)
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

I was priced out of the concert market years ago...

1st Pink Floyd - $5
1st Led Zeppelin - $10
1st Jimi Hendrix - $7
1st Black Sabbath - $3
1st Deep Purple - $12
(included ZZ Topp)

Most paid: $25 George Harrison, Atlanta, GA

Wow, you saw some great artists! :o

And he also saw Black Sabbath! ;)

I've seen Van Halen, AC/DC, Def Leppard and The Ramones, all for less than $25 each... between the late 80's and early 90's. 'course, at the time Van Halen had Sammy Hagar :| Def Leppard and The Ramones were basically doing nostalgia tours, but the AC/DC concert was absolutely the BOMB! What a blast! B| That one was so much fun! I was trying to do the scissor walk for weeks afterwards... :S :D

I was willing to pay $800 a couple of years ago to see Paul McCartney in concert. His ukelele version of Something was worth it.

However, having a 1 year old son now, I can't justify that. Now, in a few years when I can take him WITH me.:)
