StevePhelps 0 #1 September 26, 2005 I wasn't much of a ND fan until I coached football for a Catholic HS in Santa Maria, CA. I became a fan that year because all the kids were fans. Plus I like Lou Holtz. If you never were a ND fan let me tell you about their coach, Weis. The week before he played Washington he went to visit a boy dying of a brain tumor. The boy's only request was to make the first play a pass play to the right. Simple enough in most circumstances. However, the opening kickoff was fumbled and ND got the ball on the one yard line! Would Weis actually throw to the right on the first play??? He did, for a 13 yard gain. There is so much more to the story, I won't reveal, but here is the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2172623
BillyVance 35 #2 September 26, 2005 I'm a die-hard Alabama football fan, but this was a great story that brought me to tears. It's the best one I've heard or seen since "Rudy"."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

StevePhelps 0 #4 September 26, 2005 Me too, but what I like about is I never heard anything about it during the ball game. Old Weis is pretty cool in my book.

ND is an amazing team. my little kid brother graduated from ND, that's just incredible CReW Skies,"Women fake orgasms - men fake whole relationships" – Sharon Stone "The world is my dropzone" (wise crewdog quote) "The light dims, until full darkness pierces into the world."-KDM
Rookie120 0 #6 September 26, 2005 I grew up living about 10 miles from Notre Dame. Although I am a UofM fan ND still does a lot of amazing things along the years. It is a wonderful institution. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
