diverborg 0 #1 September 27, 2005 Just curious if anybody has hit the early season whitetail anywhere in the midwest. I've been out a couple times already and have seen plenty of wildlife, but no deer. Just wondering about other's experiences and/or trophies so far. Ashtanga 0 #4 September 27, 2005 You have to know what you are looking for. Sometimes what you are hunting can be right in front of you. Or right above you. See the attached pic.

Brains 2 #7 September 27, 2005 Our early season starts this weekend or next. I have been so busy and it is still so damn hot that i haven't really thought about going. It was 105 here Sunday. That makes sitting in my tree freakin miserable. Hard to keep meat from spoiling at these temps too. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. Thanatos340 1 #8 September 27, 2005 QuoteAny whitetail bowhunters out there? White Tail.. Black Tail.. Yellow Tail.. I have hunted them all at one point or another. But never used a Bow.. Usually just provide jello-shots and it seems to work OK.

I wouldn't waste my time if it were that hot either. It is still unseasonably warm here, but the highs are finally topping out in only the 70's. Very nice in the early morning. Maybe not cool enough for the deer to be moving much. Still a any harvest would have to be filled with ice immediately and transported to a cooler pretty quickly. Good luck to ya, I'll wish some cooler weather your way.
Brains 2 #10 September 27, 2005 QuoteDo you live in Mexico? Close! I live in S. TX I hunt in Central TX but it isn't much better. Good luck to you as well. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

GARYC24 3 #12 September 27, 2005 I volunteered last Sunday at a Resue Mission. I was cubing all these trays of meat..then found out it was venison! I know quite a few bow hunters! Haven't heard any of them speaking of getting their tags, etc.
