Trae 1 #1 September 28, 2005 Do you remember when you go to sleep? You know when you decide to sleep & you close your eyes...........well.....do you actually remember when you go to sleep ......as in the exact instant you are no longer awake & now asleep? I know a lot of people rely on passing out rather than going to sleep & others seem to be able to instantly nod off whenever. Others with a mind full of stuff might have trouble slowing down enough to sleep. I've found that trying to pin-point this transition instant can cause insomnia.....however it also appears to create some very powerful & lucid dreams. During one of these little edge of sleep events I found myself floating up to the ceiling. Looking back I fell back into my body and 'woke up' startled....but I hadn't gone to sleep. I spoke to a slightly esoteric lady about this and she said that I was basically astral travelling...if a bit fitfully. Since then it has become fun to try and stay awake while going to sleep. If you try this just be aware that it can cause insomnia even though you may be asleep while experiencing it. Sweet dreams
Zeemax 0 #2 September 28, 2005 i actually can sometimes pin point it.. but then i do spend my life without sleep... if you really want to dream... set your alarm clock for about 4 am... (do this on a night you're really tired and go to bed at about 11 or so). When your alram goes off, hit a snooze button that'll give you 10 mins before it goes off again... then when it does... repeat.... man this gives me some fucked up dreams Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
Trae 1 #3 September 29, 2005 Cheers I'll try that . I got a new dog once that gave me a pretty weird time table ...waking up all the time to let it out for jobbies. I got in the space where I didn't really know if I had woken up or not and was dreaming about letting the pup out while it happily shat on the carpet. Now I really look forward to waking up in dreams ..it can get so real... even feeling the breeze and consciously deciding to go to places . Waking up dead has become a new phenomena lately..... as in bouncing or getting wiped in a dream accident. . ciao
adrenalinejunki 0 #4 September 29, 2005 In skew I learned that dreams only last 2 to 3 seconds and the only ones that you remember is the one you were having when you woke up. Which makes Zeemax have screwed up dreams that he can remember...lol. Thats just what I learned in skew. __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen? highfly 0 #5 September 29, 2005 I always know the point that Im just about to drop off. My problem is is that Im very aware of this. I know because the lucid images start and I love seeing them, but 9 times out of 10 I'll wake myself up by thinking about these visions. I have then missed the "sleep bus" If I miss the bus then I am awake for at least another hr maybe 2 which is a real pisser. But funnily enough when I do get to sleep the 2nd time I dont remember it at all. www.myspace.com/durtymac
bert_man 0 #6 September 29, 2005 QuoteWaking up dead has become a new phenomena lately..... as in bouncing or getting wiped in a dream accident. Really? I never actually die in my dreams. I don't even wake up at impact. I'll have a double total mal, and perform a book-perfect PLF and stand right back up, wiping the dust off my jumpsuit. Is that a sign that I inwardly, truly believe I'm invincible, even though logic says otherwise?
Trae 1 #7 September 29, 2005 This makes me wonder what happens for the rest of the time we're asleep. Shut down zombie mode. I heard some stuff about how t some Japanese company is working on a gadget that provides the body with what sleep normally does so that workers wouldn't have to sleep at all making them more productive. I've also heard about some drug experimentation that allowed for week long sleep free periods . The side effects must be mean.Apparently the armed forces are pretty interested in this one. . Trae 1 #8 September 29, 2005 I've had whole series of death by dream experiences. One series had me getting shot every night . It got so I was almost afraid to go to sleep. In one a submachine gun walked it's bullets up & across my torso. After the first couple of hits I could tell where the next bullets were going and managed to twist so the next one would miss my heart. I woke up still feeling it. Just the other night I was riding a train crash and had to decide when to jump off the top. I woke up during what would have been the trauma bit...heart racing. I've lost count of the times I've bounced in dreams . They're not all bad I've been doing a lot of take offs lately ..more please
 SudsyFist 0 #9 September 29, 2005 QuoteSince then it has become fun to try and stay awake while going to sleep.
