Still, maybe I was wrong in calling it beginner, if you two view 5.9 as intermediate. Btw, what kind of climbing are we talking about lead, trad, crack, or all of the above? It makes a difference, I think. Ratings vary all over the country. So does the skill level of 'beginners'. So it's no issue to me. I only state it that way because our area, there is a real change in techniques and strength to get into 9ers, and another one to pass into 11s. My wife had to get real fit and learn some new things and is just now getting comfortable in 9's at our gym. I suspect there's another one to transition through into 13's and up, but I'm nowhere near that. I like a good 11 and can rarely do the whole thing without a take so far and have only done one 12 that I'd consider real and not sandbagged to rating. Maybe I just don't have what it takes, but I love the sport. I PM'd you my friends name. Unlikely you heard of him though. He works a climbing gym with the dad of that freeclimber/freesoloer that does so many fo the movie shots (I think the mission impossible intro and cliffhanger - don't know the name). That gym is turning out some fantastic young women competitors. ... It all depends if you are into hard, well defined, muscular ripped bodies or not... OMG!!! Yes! Where do I get me one? I promise...I'll be gentle. That's the good thing about getting horizontal with a ripped up, brick shit house hard climber, you don't have to be gentle. oooh....sounds fun. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly!
