Anvilbrother 0 #1 October 4, 2005 One evening I think tuesday or wednesday someone was flying a KICK ass R.C. plane in the landing area by Mullins loading tent. Anyone know who was flying it, and what kind it was? I am looking to buy one just like it. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 October 4, 2005 A few years ago somebody had a HUGE RC blimp at WFFC that they were flying around. It was fucking nuts! The guy was doing crazy aerbatics with it. I seriously thought it was a "real" blimp (with people on board) for a while; it was that big. Chuck
cocheese 0 #4 October 4, 2005 Yea from far away i thought they were all going to die. Saw it up close in the hanger. It is cool.
Anvilbrother 0 #5 October 4, 2005 Ok from the runway where I was it was not shaped like a regular plane. It was shaped like the Northrop YB-49 flying wing. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Snowwhite 0 #6 October 4, 2005 The guy who owns the blimp owns an RC hobby store in Champaign. I'll ask the airboss what his name is. The guy with the RC plane is a friend of the the blimp guy, and they do a lot of flying together. They have some sort of a club, and the blimp guy supplies the planes and stuff. They were both excellent pilots.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
kallend 2,146 #7 October 4, 2005 Was it one of these? They are very popular right now. Here are some of mine (although I didn;t take any to WFFC) www.iit.edu/~kallend/rcmod.html... Ron 10 #9 October 4, 2005 I just bought three helicopters. 2 Blades and a .50 Venture. I sold a few of my planes before the move."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
loumeinhart 0 #10 October 4, 2005 A guy in Ohio used to fly a wooden stop sign, he was never at WFFC though. It was the coolest fixed wing I ever saw.
wartload 0 #11 October 5, 2005 Stopped by the Flying Circus in VA a couple of weekends ago and there was a guy there flying an RC jet -- not a looks-like-a-jet -- a real jet! The thing was fast, sounded very cool, and VERY expensive (someone told me it was about 15K)

The thing was fast, sounded very cool, and VERY expensive (someone told me it was about 15K) We have an even called "Florida Jets" here at the Flagler Airport each February. These things are absolutely awesome! They have custom jobs, military and civilian scale jets and whatnot. The real mid-blowing ones are those with on-board starters -- seeing a jet spool up, do control checks, taxi and fly off with iss pilot on the other side of the runway is very weird. Oh, before anyone asks, yes they did have this event when there was an active DZ at the airport. You can be sure we kept well clear of their side of the airport as a 40 pound jet screaming through your canopy (or your person) at 250 mph could ruin one's whole day! Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
