deeter 0 #1 October 7, 2005 If anyone can helpa sister on this, it would be much appreciated. I've never posted a new thread. Beer's in the mail. A few years ago, my husband ordered a Girls Gone Wild video. Ok, two videos. Now, I'm not in opposition to viewing a bit of ass and nipples. (Jeez, our first "date" was at the ONLY girly bar in TF, ID.....no nipples...and that's NOT fair!) But after several requests to have our number removed from the "call" list, also to include the national registery DO NOT CALL list, we still get calls. To make a long story short, fucker calls asking for said hubby, I answer, they hear female voice and hang up. I check caller ID, call back 800 number.... "Girls Gone Wild" Without incurring legal fees, how do I get them to stop calling? Threats of bodily harm to them and theirs? Fuckers.
bob.dino 1 #2 October 7, 2005 The Federal Do Not Call registry. Use google to read up on it & register.
deeter 0 #3 October 7, 2005 "also to include the national registery DO NOT CALL list" As I mentioned above, we have registered ALL our numbers with the federal listing. But thanks for the "search engine" advice. Any legal "knowin' " folks out there have a suggestion? Thanks!
bob.dino 1 #4 October 7, 2005 You missed out on the "and read up" advice . If you bought the videos more than 18 months ago, then they can't call you. (Reference). So, go file a complaint.
deeter 0 #5 October 7, 2005 Read up....I'm guessing I should have provided more details on what I've done, who I've contacted, time frames, ect. I have filed the complaint....a long time ago! It's been more than 18 months.....they should not be calling. Who's regulating this crap? (Thanks, Dino. Didn't mean to come across as a crotch.) simplyputsi 0 #9 October 7, 2005 I'm no lawyer but I thought that if a company/telemarketer called they were not allowed to hang up if you answered the phone, of course unless you were getting extremely beligerant or something. Not only that, but a person who repeatedly calls and hangs up can be considered a prank phone caller. I think this can be reported to the phone company or the police, especially if you have the number. If it were me I would document all the times they have called and when I reported them I might even make some stuff up to make them sound like more than just someone calling and hanging up on me.Skymama's #2 stalker -

DJL 235 #11 October 7, 2005 I saw a news story on a guy who is making his living off of suing telemarketers.
