skycat 0 #19 October 7, 2005 Quotewonder what kind of seat "one nut" Armstrong uses? I believe it's a Selle San Marco Concor Light, but the thing with bike seats is it doesn't matter what works for one person it's what works for you and your sit bones.Fly it like you stole it! bluheelrtx 0 #21 October 8, 2005 QuoteIm on my 3rd saddle since starting to road ride 3 months ago. They cant all feel like crap can they...? Deal with it. I've been using the same seat (and most of the bike) for 20 years. I'll whine about my knee, but I'll never let my ass slow me down. -- Jason ---- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. skycat 0 #22 October 8, 2005 No they don't all feel like crap, it should only take a few times out for your sit bones to get used to it and even those times your sit bones should be the only thing sore. If you are experienceing pain or numbness anywhere else you don't have one that fits you right. I love the Selle San Marco Atola Gel, but I'm a girl and this one is wider in the back and shorting in the front to accomidate my wider hips and shorter legs. Derek loves the Selle Italia Max Flite Gel cause it's narrow and long yet when I sit on it I think it's an instrument of torture. We also have a Selle Italia XO that came with my road bike and both of us hate this saddle it's to narrow for me and to wide for Derek. So when looking for a saddle look for ones that will accomidate your sit bones, and be honest with yourself if you have wide ones get a saddle that is wider, if they are narrow get a narrow saddle. BTW...I've only seen rave reviews about brooks saddles you may want to look into them.Fly it like you stole it!
