Evidently, they haven't seen these.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
lisamariewillbe 1 #3 October 10, 2005 Im not a peta type, however I am a animal lover, I also choose to learn why this material is wrong. Some may say, its just a commercial. Its not JUST a commerical. These animals are usually taken as infants from their mothers. They are beaten, deprieved and other various punishments, to teach them how to behave in this way. These type of commercials often involve un-natural behaviour which can be painful. When the chimp or ape is out of its "cute" phase it is often retired to a lab. These commericals also show poachers that they are still needed, considering most show business animals either are directly or indirectley taken from the wild by less then legal means. There is only a 3% difference between the brain of a chimp and the brain of a human. There is so much to learn about these animals, and so many reasons to keep them around through conservation and education. Using them for halftime commercials is not a way to bring awareness. It actually encourages people to want a chimp as a pet. And thats just dangerous and sad. So although I dont find offence to the posting of this, or to those who find them entertaining, I do however find offence to the various companies who choose to promote the use of exotic wild animals in a way that is un-natural.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

Actually, there is only a 3% difference in the DNA (this figure was from an old study from before the human genome project) Complete sequencing of the chimp DNA was recently done and the difference was put at 5%. This sounds close until you realize we share about 60% of our DNA with watercress. A human brain is about 4 times the size of a chimp's.
