pilotdave 0 #1 October 12, 2005 Here's a map showing the approximate locations of the last 150 visitors to SkydivingMovies.com. Can you find yourself? I'm the firefox farthest to the north east in the US. C'mon people, get with the times... IE's gotta go! Not many Europeans online at this hour huh? ryoder 1,590 #9 October 12, 2005 So what data source are you using to map IPs to location? Online datasources can usually get my personal ISP correct, but my company is another matter. It is a multi-national with POPs scattered about the globe. Since the IP space is registered to a US firm, many of our foreign POPs get mapped back to the US. nate_1979 9 #10 October 12, 2005 IE does suck, but unfortionately there are sites that dont work right on the other browsers... I like shit to work right, so when I'm on my M$ computer, IE it is. I really wish someone would knock IE off of it's high horse sometime though.. Remembering the days before IE when Netscape was king.... Good 'ol M$.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... pilotdave 0 #11 October 12, 2005 Yeah, all depends on your ISP's setup. AOL users appear in the center of the country they're in... Kansas in the US. My work address is off by probably 40 miles. But at home, I'm literally right down the street from where it shows me. Dave

pilotdave 0 #14 October 12, 2005 I use a firefox extension which allows pages to be opened in IE. When I come across something that won't work in firefox, I right click on it and hit "open in IE." Then I get the best of both worlds in one convenient package. Dave

When something works in IE but not in Firefox, it is not usually because it "works right" but because either the site designer designed ONLY for IE and screwed the other browsers or they unknowingly used some proprietary non-standard MS shit. Or used non standard cascading style sheets. Or non-standard...see what I am getting at? Microsoft was on the team that helped design the W3C standards and they cannot even follow them. I deal with it on my *nix boxes, but when I'm just on the web surfing I dont feel like dealing with sites that are fucked up, so IE makes it easy for me You say non-standard, but unfortionately the standard is IE, and the "easy to use" frontpage that so many friggin people wanna use doesnt help. (yahoo's music video site) which insists that I have to run Netscape 4.x for it to work or IE. Seriously, it is mad cause I am trying to use a NEW mozilla browser. Read my post again. I made some edits. IE helped MAKE the standard and does not follow it. That is what makes me mad. Why bother helping to design a uniform standard if you are just going to take a shit on it? But I digress. I have not been to skydiving movies in awhile and am not on the neato picture.
