skydvchk 0 #1 October 12, 2005 I am one of the board members for Christian Women's center and I would like to have a fundraiser. CWC raises money through a thrift store and through fundraisers to help women and children in a crisis. It is a Christian based operation so we do not get funding from the government- strictly from donations. Can anyone help me with ideas or tell me how a person can get a skydiving fundraiser started? (it is based in Griffin Georgia) thanks!
Thanatos340 1 #2 October 12, 2005 First you might want fill out your profile. People like to know who they are talking to. You can contact any of the Area Drop zones and talk to the Owners/Managers. Call - Skydive Atlanta in Thomaston, Skydive the Farm in Cedartown and Skydive Monroe in Monroe. They will generally try to work with you. I know the Farm did a couple fund raisers earlier this year I think it was for the Leukemia foundation or something like that.

popsjumper 2 #4 October 12, 2005 Maybe contact churches (and affiliates) to get a number of tandem jumpers and then get the DZ to donate a percentage of the new business to your cause. Get groups to donate $/per jump and then get a number of jumpers to do tandems. Advertise and market the ideas you choose to implement. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
Thanatos340 1 #5 October 12, 2005 Its there now. It wasnt when I first read your Post. People to Call and ask about a fund Raiser: Trey at Skydive Atlanta - (706) 647-9701 Hans at Skydive the Farm - (404) 295-5000 Lisa at Skydive Monroe - 770)-207-9164 Some ideas.. Get a Bunch of Tandem to come out from your local Churches. The DZ may donate a portion of the Proceeds back to the Charity. Sponsored Skydives. Basically start a drive to "Throw the pastor from the Plane" or something. Set up a goal maybe $500 or something and when you have the Money Pledged, Whoever makes their Jump. Make it fun for everyone. The things we sometimes do for Fundraisers from with-in the skydiving community may not be appropriate for a "Christian" organization. skydvchk 0 #6 October 12, 2005 LOL yeah.. i don't believe the "usual" dropzone activity's after hours would work. I like the idea of finding church members to raise money and when they get to a certain amount of $ they will make a jump! I like that alot. Thank you. hopefully the people making a jump won't have to pay the FULL tandem price for their jump so that money too can go toward CWC. THANKS FOR THE IDEAS!
