skymama 37 #26 October 12, 2005 FYI, I just came back from Target and they have Coleman tents on sale this week. I have a 6 person tent. It's too big for just me at boogies, but I like being able to stand up in it. I just splurged on a queen size extra thick air bed for the Halloween Boogie. All I need is my own bathroom and I'm all set! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

wingnut 0 #28 October 12, 2005 dude, just get my tent from kelly before she leaves atlanta.... it's pretty sturdy, you can fit a king sized air matress in it with lots of room to spare and it's withstood some good wind too as long as you have it staked down........ i got it free from tequilagirl when she didn't want to take it back to texas from eloy... it's done me well these last 3 years...... but i have a new tent that wil work just fine for me, and it will give her extra space in her car for the drive... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
Elisha 1 #29 October 12, 2005 Bingo. I just exchanged my majorly-expensvie Walmart Ozark Trails since one of the strap thingy's where you nail the stakes down ripped off at the boogie due to the wind. But since I'm po' and rarely "camp" (as in use a tent for spending the night), the cheap $30 Walmart tent is fine with me. I consider it my annual Walmart purchase since I choose not to financially support the conglomerate in general.
Superman32 0 #30 October 12, 2005 http://www.coleman.com/...?Product_id=9260F907 Same as NWFlyer. The tent is spacious, it only has 2 poles so it's really easy to set up in the middle on the night when you are piss drunk. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! SniperCJ 0 #33 October 13, 2005 QuoteMy wife and i use a MSR "Hubba Hubba" - its convertable for several different climates. Its held up nicely for the last few seasons. I also have a Bibbler tent I won as a door prize at a trade show but it doesn't get much ventilation so it spends most time at home. How tall are you and how well do you fit in the Hubba Hubba. I was looking at that one but it seems short for me. Im 6-01. We currently have a Mountain Hardware Hammerhead 3. Nice and roomy.
kenz 0 #34 October 13, 2005 im sorry i dont have any advice as far as an actual tent is concerned, but reading the headline for this reminded me of best week ever this week... not sure if anyone saw it or not but they totally busted on this guy on wheel of fortune for guessing "pitching a tent" after like 3 letters or something stupid and it was hilarious... anyone else catch it?"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
Guest #35 October 13, 2005 The spouse and I own a "Quik-Shade" sun canopy. It has square telescoping legs and a scissors-like structure to support itself. It's 10x10 and will erect (heh )to approx 8 feet high. The manufacturer also makes walls that zip together to form a tent; the spouse sewed a zippered window with tent-screen material into one of the walls. I usually put it opposite the door, which has a straight floor-to-ceiling zipper. NO stooping, except to open and close. The tent is kind of heavy (45 lbs), but it goes up fairly fast, and it's huge inside. I call mine "The Harju Hilton", and I've set it up at Lodi, and Ralph's in OR. I always take a 10x10 tarp for flooring, and a 10x10 piece of carpet to go over that, which distributes the pressure from the feet of my folding table, chairs, full-size cot, etc. It's still got room for other stuff, and ends up looking like a miniature hotel room - just the thing for the DZ. One can also hang stuff inside it. I like to decorate mine with Hawaiian shirts. I suppose one could take the walls down during the day to use it for packing and general shade, but I haven't done that yet. However, this kind of canopy give you a lot of options: no walls, one wall, two, and so on. The best part is that there's no crawling around. mh"The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
